Ok, so I know that I'm looking down the road quite a bit, but there is a good chance that this could very well happen. The question up for discussion is this...What do you do if Joey starts for the first 4 weeks and goes 4-0 or 3-1 and is playing really well?? Do you risk taking him out and putting Culpepper in or do you leave him in and not change anything that is working?? I know this a problem that we would all love to have, but come to this point and time I think there are going to be a lot of people on opposite sides of the fence. Leave him in or replace him with Culpepper?? What do you say??

I personally don't think he will be starting 4 games, but for discussion sake... I would have to look at why are we at this record? Is it because of Harrington's play, or are there other factors winning us the games such as defense picking up for a struggling offense.

Remember, the first 4 games are at Pitt, home against Buffalo and Tennessee, then at Houston. I would say 3-1 regardless of QB is a pretty good bet.

So, if this were the scenario, I would put in Culpepper...

well i think if we are winning by defense and not much offense then we might make the change. sorta like the bears did last year with rex when they were winning and not scoring many points.....but if joey is putting points on the board and we are winning then i say stick with him and let culpepper recover fully!:dolphins:

That sounds reasonable. If we are winning games more so because of the team, I think you make the transition to Culpepper. But, if Joey gets hot, and starts burning defenses, you make up health issues with Pepper to avoid QB drama and let Joey play. Anyway, the longer Pepper rests that knee, the better it is for the future of this franchise.

well it would most likely depend on how we are winning the games, if they were all close games with the exception of the steelers game then you might tend to easily favor daunte to come in and replace him or if we are winning but joey has been struggling like how kyle orton was playing last year with the bears.....i personally dont think that joey will be starting for the first 4 weeks, i think daunte will be ready to go week one but may miss a game some where in the season....most likely i dont think saban would create a huge starting qb conflict like which had been going on in SD and i think daunte would be named the starter immediately once he is 100%, but if he were to start off struggling and having problems with his knee then he would be replaced with joey until he is ready to take us to the promise land

We keep him in.If the team is playing well and he is playing well then i think u dont risk that.If we are 4-0 cuz of our defense then put Culpepper in but if Harrington is playing good there is no way i would take him out.Culpepper would be the best backup qb in the league.

Leave him in if its truly him playing really well, give DC more rest and raise the value we eventually get for Harrington when we trade him.

In Saban We Trust!
