I've Been a Dolphins fan for 18 years now, and I have never been this excited for an upcoming season as I am now. I feel that our staff finally has put all the right pieces in place, and these guys know what they're doing. I know some of you were worried that Parcells would leave us this off-season, but I had a good feeling that he was here for atleast another year. I am confident that he will be with us the following year as well. These guys see to know how to run a true team, building through the draft, not free agency.

The signing of Pennington was probally the best free agent signing this team has made in the past 10 years. After a parade of quarterbacks since Marino, we finally have one we can honestly believe in. And when his time is up in Miami, we have a very promising QB in Chad Henne. I believe he is going to be a great, not good, a GREAT quarterback. He already was showing promise this pre-season and his short stint at quarterback in week 2. This leads me to my next point about Pennington's value. If Henne was doing this good now, I could only imagine that he would be even better after learning from Pennington a couple years. When it is finally his time to step in as the starter, I think he'll do just fine.

We also have a few young promising prospects on the defensive line. Langford, who was looked over many times on draft day, and did a fine job as starter on our line. And Merling, who was first round talent found in the second round, and made a few plays in a reserve role. I'm hoping that in time, these two will be key players in our defense. The signing of Wake excites me as well. I can't wait to see what this guy brings to the NFL.

Despite a common belief on this board, I honestly don't think our receivers are that bad. Don't get me wrong here though. I would LOVE to get ourselves a big, tall, physical receiver. But we don't have that yet. I'm saying, with what we do have, I can't ask for much more out of them. They seem to be doing a good job of whats expected of them. Maybe this year's draft, maybe next year's, hopefully we do get a big receiver that makes this group one of the top in the NFL.

Long story short, I love this team, and with one or more drafts like this past years, we will make a strong push to the Superbowl. Man, I'm looking foward to next season already!

I too am very optimistic. However my optimism is directed at 2010.

Sorry, I would love to jump on the bandwagon but with the schedule the way it is. I am not so sure.

Our defense was ranked 15th last year and in two years I think we can be top 5.

I am a huge Penny fan and I think if he stays healthy and gets an extension we have a shot at the big one in 2011.

I agree with everything you said exept I lack the confidence in Chad Henne.

Pennington is the most accurate passer in NFL history and was #2 last year behind Rivers in QB rating. I think people who believe that kind of performance, along with all the intangibles of brilliance and leadership that Penny brings, can be easily replaced are sadly mistaken.

I hope I'm wrong about next year but I am a believer in all the way in 2010.

2009 should be very entertaining & present another major step toward the SuperBowl & predominance in the NFL :D

What im really wanting to see is the O line get finished. That and and the defense. Get a serious pass rush, along with a good secondary. Combine that with a finished smashmouth O line that can make the run game produce consistently. If we can get these 2 ingredients along with Pennys efficiency we could make a serious super bowl run. I would really like to give Penny a shot at a ring, before the reigns get handed over to Henne.
