His agent only has 3 clients in the NFL... Hankins might need to pull a Zach Brown and dump this dude so Rosenhaus or someone else can get him a deal....preferably with us.

With Hankins, it appears that Kevin Poston is up to his old tricks. Poston's contract demands for Hankins have been "outrageous," according to a league source. One report indicates that Hankins' camp has been seeking more than $10 million annually, which would be more than All-Pro teammate Damon Harrison. That's in line with the Postons' reputation. Their contract demands for Pace, who eventually fired the Postons, were described as a "ransom note" by former Rams president Jay Zygmunt in 2004.

Hankins is in a different position than most of the Postons' infamous contract negotiations. Those players were Pro Bowlers with some leverage. Hankins is a solid 24-year-old who is overshadowed on a defensive line that features Harrison, Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon.

The consensus from
NFL insiders is that Poston grossly misread the market. One league source said this is the worst case of an agent misjudging a market they've ever seen.

There's a very slim chance but never know. The Giants probably would match any offer we throw out. It's going to be a garbage offer because Jordan Phillips still has the "potential" lol
Ya let's wait on someone who has made a handful of plays rather than get a proven 24 yr old that can actually stop the run lol I don't know if I'm more pissed about Phillips or Parker since both have had great opportunities so far. Phillips has Suh and Wake. Parker has Landry and Stills to help. I will give Parker credit for a few of Stills Tds and always going against the other teams #1 though. But yes please make all of our days and sign Hankins. I think we're holding out on signing people for Landry's contract we promised.

Were we ever in the running for Hankins? I don't remember hearing we were linked to him at all.

I have to ask myself is Hankins a product of himself or a product of one hell of a Defensive line? I'm leaning toward the latter.

He'd be the ultimate get at this point. Not a very good draft for defensive tackle, whereas the draft is very deep in pretty much every other position of need we have. We just need a guy to rotate with Phillips, really, but Hankins would take the job from him easily.... And that would be fine with me.

McDowell would be a suicide worthy selection. I really hope we sign a vet before the draft.

If we were able to sign him it would help our draft tremendously. Would prefer to stay away from any young DT's coming out.

The Poston brothers. I haven't heard their names in quite awhile and I've never heard anything positive about them.

I'd give him some credit the defense as a whole was rebuilt and its not easy task performing well inside no matter who is rushing the edge

This would be one of best off-season signings he is only 24 and hasn't begun to hit his potential
