Looks like number one pick might be Jake Long.. interesting

I'm sold on Jake Long. I was hoping to trade down, but now I don't want to risk losing him.

We desperately need a T, so lets just take the best one allowing us, as others have pointed out, to draft BPA or trade with our #32.

I used to think trading down would be a good ( which it is only if we rob someone blind) but I really think J.Long will make a huge impact on this team. Any trades should be made with our 2nd and 3rd round picks.

I'd be fine with Jake Long tho I like Chris Long too....I've been on the Chris Long bandwagon all along but Jake might make more sense as we don't have any OT's other than Carey that are ready to start...and yes,I believe that Jake Long can start at LT......Now we'd still need to draft an OLB at some point but at 1 you want a guy that will start for the next 10 years and that can be Jake Long.

Ozzy rules!!

100% agreed this is our guy we need a ot ronnie and ricky need someone to run behind this guy is a beast i would love the pick even though i like c.long too but we have a pressing need on the o-line..

Thanks....however, I did find that video disturbing in that there's a credible scenario where the Jets could end up with Chris Long.

I want Jake over Chris.... why ?? I'm goin Need over BPA !!! Pass rushers and run stoppers arent nearly as hard to come by as solid LT's either. Jake is the Right pick for Our Team.

Do we have to go through this every day? Can't the Jake supports just stay in a thread that is already started? Jake is not a LT and this is the deepest T draft in the NFL's existance. Jake played against inferior opponents, is slow, and will command LT #1 overall money.

I also want Jake Long. People are saying that the league is full of tackles, and there's plenty to be found in the later rounds....but is that what we should hope for? Someone who is not the best at there postition? We need a dominant left tackle, and Long fits the bill.

When it's a clear cut case - and Jake Long appears to be the best at his position, and the best player possibly in the draft, then thats who Miami should pick. Chris Long, athough an excellant player, is not nessesarily regarded as the best in his position.

And Matt Ryan...please. Anyone who throws 19 picks in his final year is not overall #1 caliber footballer.

He is only best right now. He lacks athleticism and can't handle rushers that use double moves. He has no upside at all and it has been well documented and talked about on NFLN, ESPN, and most forums. And what the heck are you talking about Chris LOng isn't the best at his position? Got a link or just another person making stuff up on someone because you want someone else?

Chris Long and Vernon Gholston could very well be some nice players down the road...

But who honenstly can justify a team as devoid of talent as we are, commiting around 34 million in guranteed bank to a 34 Outside Linebacker? I simply can't. If you going to commit that much salary to a player, it be better to a player who plays one of the more important posisistions on the field(LT: Check!). With the potential to be a bonafide franchise guy at that respective posistion.

Jake Long is the safe, no brainer here.

I actually hate to miss out on either Long.......or Gholston for that matter, but we can obviously only take one.

I'm warming up to the idea of solidifying our O-line with Jake Long, adding another lineman with a later pick, and another QB and TE. Make it the draft to fix the offense. This would seemingly repair (on paper) two out of three of our units, offense and special teams.
Specials teams being fixed via free agency.

We can devote next off-season to defense and finish the rebuild (for the most part).

Sorry but I don't think he is. Jake is maxed out and has too many flaws. He don't deserve the 50 mill he would command and we would be better off down the road with one of the more talented but a little less impressive RIGHT NOW T's. Why is their a NFL link when just yesterday Mike Mayock said Chris was going #1 anyway?
