I just was wondering what it felt like to be Colt Brennan. If he entered the draft last year he probably would have been a early 2nd round pick; this year he is probably going to be taken in the 4th to 5th round.

For every story were it pays off to stay in school, there is a story where a player hurts his stock by returning for his Senior season. By making his decision to stay in school he probably cost himself about 10 million dollars...ouch!!

He wouldn't have been a top 5-10 pick.

He would have been lumped in with the 2nd rounders.

Brennan would not have been a first round pick last year, most have not rated him that high at any point. He's another Timmy Chang, always has been and always will be (no offense Tim).

Rich Miano, UH's liaison to the the NFL, said the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins were interested in taking Brennan in the first round of the 2007 draft.
A Miami official told Miano: "We have the ninth pick, and we'd love to take him."
A Washington official said: "We'll take him in the first round."
The Redskins have the sixth pick in the first round.

Playing in the Senior Bowl was what killed him.

It really did, that and the practices all week. If he came out last year, he wouldn't have been anywhere near the Senior Bowl, could have avoided it like the plague. He could have even skipped the combine and done a private workout to show off his "skills" out there in Hawaii. I'm sure some GM's would have been thrilled, glad it didn't happen to us.
