LT Branden Albert: I'm here to protect Ryan Tannehill's blind side

Hickey says he and some players dined with Branden Albert last night: "The happiest person at the dinner table was Ryan Tannehill."

If you can't see when watching the games that Tannehill is far more at fault than Wallace then I don't know what to tell ya. I'm not saying that won't change with time/better oline but as far as last year goes Tannehill flat out missed Wallace badly on many occasions.

This problem may be something TIME itself will eventually help fix. When I watched Tannehill throwing deep, two thing stood out......

1. Both Tannehill and Wallace still are not in sync:
How many time did Tannehill throw further then Wallace was because Wallace slowed down, or Tannehill did not throw far enough to lead Wallace deep in hope of not overthrow him, while Wallace was going full boat. Because Tannehill had little time to figure out the coverage, or how fast and how far Wallace would be from the defender, he was guessing, while still trying to not to throw an easy INT.

2. Time to set himself and throw more accurately:
Not knowing each other well enough yet still was not a big deal, because if Tannehill had been given just a bit more time to throw, he would have thrown better and more catchable passes. I noticed almost every time Tannehill went deep, but had average to good amount of time to see the coverage, set himself, and throw the ball, the pass was exactly or very close to where it needed to be for Wallace.

Fix the O-line, allow these two more reps with each other, and I am positive this will be a lethal combination in the making. I also hope Lazor will allow Tannehil to move in the pocket when he feels the pressure, when Tannehill passes on the run, it's almost unfair how dangerously accurate he is.

Do you have any idea how many times Wallace completely burned the CB/S deep to get downfield wide open, only to have to slow down to adjust to the ball and get into proper position? I cannot stand his body catching style of play (I was taught not to do that in MIDDLE SCHOOL, and the guy is doing it at the pro level), but it was FAR from just "Wallace's fault". Re-watch the tape.

The biggest reason IMO the deep ball suffered for Tannehill and Wallace last year was our OL.

As CK pointed out in an article he wrote for Bleacher Report, sometimes the play design also has something to do with the Tannehill to Wallace deep ball struggles.

Not a very deep hole. that's for sure.
I feel like you're arguing very different points. A 25 yard throw is completely different than a 45 yard throw. If you can't make that distinction, then you shouldn't be talking about QB play. Tannehill is awesome at the 25 yard throws, but not as great at 45 yard throws. Much like our tax bracket, we need more groups to breakdown the statistics. CK did analysis on that bleacher report article and it was 30% completion percentage on throws to Wallace on vertical throws, but we don't have anything to compare it to in terms of other verticals.

I feel good we got the LT position taken care of.

Ozzy rules!!

his deep ball is fine. had one of the best deep ball percentages his rookie year, and was good against anyone not named wallace last year. Wallace needs to learn how to catch. some more chemistry is needed, but wallace is the biggest issue, when it comes to the deep ball.

I recall 1 deep ball where if Wallace would of not given up he would of caught the tipped pass. Both Safety and CB tipped the play. We need a Fitzgerald, Bryant type of player that does not give up on passes. We had that in Brandon Marshall before Dolphins and after.

If yoi think Wallace is to blame for the deep balls then there is no help for you.
