Why haven't we signed this guy yet? He started 12 games for the Bucs last year. He played pretty well. Good run-blocker.

He is a restricted free agent tendered $500k, with NO COMPENSATION.

A starting left tackle... cheap... 24 years old... what's not to like?

Is he an exclusive rights free agent sort of like camarillo was for us?

What's not to like? The fact that he's not a very good starting LT, and therefore not a starting LT at all. I'd consider playing him at LG but certainly not LT.

I think he would be an upgrade at LG or LT.. we have not one at LG and carey is a better RT.

Well if the price is right I don't see what we have to loose here. I mean there's not much better choice at either postion now with Bell taken by the Niners.

He was probably the worst LT in the entire league last year. Vernon Carey is miles ahead of him at LT.

Why do you say he was the worst LT? Where are you getting this info from?

i dunno about you but ck usually knows what he is taking about. he might not be the worst lt but you could probably take it to the bank that he sucks.

Maybe we're trying to figure out just how good he really is or is not. Penn only started for the Bucs because Luke "I'm Injured Again" Petitgout was placed on IR after the 4th game of the year.

remember we do have youth a bit still around, plus a David Stewart or a Olivea or Maurice Williams would be more worth it.
