Why did Monroe get that little as the best fault and why did we pay over 2 million more a year for the Albert when every other LT got 7-8

This is like the 3rd thread about this. Monroe's agent screwed up IMO. Priced himself too high and other teams said no and moved on to other LTs. We wanted the leadership of Albert and didn't want to play the game. Albert has been Philbin's guy since last year. Couldn't risk losing him. I am happy with the pickup. Look at the Raiders. They paid Saffold almost the same as we paid for Albert and he is not a good LT.

I think he was just finding the market for Baltimore.

Teams probly found out early that they werent serious. body language. its your friend.

No one else wanted Monroe.

You don't get traded from the Jags for a 5th and then try and command 10 million per.

I don't get why he didn't take what we paid Albert. His agen screwed up huge

Quite possible GMs saw through the agents game of trying to drive up the price for Monroe and decided not to play or they didn't think Monroe was worth the investment the agent wanted teams to make. I tell you what though, can't remember a market drying up so fast for a player like it did for Monroe. In a matter of minutes he was left with just the Ravens as his only option.

Albert was the most sought after LT on the market, so not surprising he got the most. The Cardinals and Dolphins both had Monroe third on their list and wasn't even on the radar of the Raiders. That is telling.
