I'm over here now
when was the last time a FA LT made an impact on his new team?

the offense needs to get better, the oline needs to get better and it starts with LT...

CB is a need and blew some games but most games were still in arms length with a good O..

we need oline help...plain and simple

screw a qb in the first round, a de in the first round, a cb in the first round...

cmon, next to qb, LT has been the most pothetic position on the field since the glory days...

HH is great but not a miracle worker

a five star cook cant make a five star meal at white castle

It could not be a LT in the first round, because there will almost surely not be any LTs worth taking at number 9, unless Levi Brown wows in the offseason, because right now he is projected around pick 13-18.

Joe Thomas could fall to 9. May not be likely, but not impossible either. Either way this is a good draft for LTs and we may be able to get a good one in the 2nd round. It all depends on what's BPA when we pick. I can see us taking a DT, CB, or WR with the 1st pick if that's the BPA. (QB too if the docs don't think Culpepper's knee will ever be the same.)

Thomas is like Calvin Johnson. he's a top 3 pick. If he falls out of the top 3 somehow, i doubt he falls out of the top 5. hes that good.

Joe Thomas has blown anyone whose watched him away. Aaron Rodgers did not. His best characteristic was his 'mechanics.' You want more then good 'mechanics' from a QB. As for Thomas, hes a beast. Hes a moving wall.

"I watched 16 games this year at Miami Mike's and have concluded that our biggest need is a LT. Here are some other things I like:

higher taxes, the Dukes of Hazard movie, James Patterson "novels" and the NJ Turnpike

Playmakers, Mr. Quayle. Did you catch the deserter's press conference??? He specifically mentioned the need for go to guys.

Kitty thinks we have 'em in place but she hasn't been right since Bush 41 was in office.

Think people- its not about the O-line in this case. Its really not

You wanna burn a pick real quick... pick any offensive lineman. THink about how many we lost to injuries this year. It's a miracle some of our guys made it through the season. Look at Toledo, late round draft pick, projected as a backup if not a starter on the team... he goes down. Now think of the damage it would do to a team who picked a lineman in the first round and he goes down.

There's no way in hell I would pick a lineman with only one first round draft pick. We either go WR or CB. If we go CB you cut Booker and promote Hagen. He dropped some passes but that kid is going to be a baller.

Yeah cut booker cuz he and welker were the only plaiy makers we had great plan if you gonna cut anyone cut mister under 16 receving yards a game the ;ast 4 games, You guys really need to remember something receivers don't make an impact usually until year 3. Therefore Vick and Hagan are still learning. We need to see what we do in free agency first

I think we can improve on the O-line.. They did play better
toward to end of the season, but it could be upgraded..
But its not only the O-line, its QB, Deep threat WR, TE ( I think McMike
is overrated)...
Lets just say we have a lot of "needs" to address...

we need to sign two OL in the offseason. Bringing in more rookies wont do anything for us as the only guy who can come in with an immediate impact is Joe Thomas, and he will be gone in the top 3. If we can offer a good contract to Mike Gandy who is a relatively young LT, and bring in Eric Steinbech who is still young we could have a line of Gandy, Steinbach, Hadnot, Fonoti, and Carey which is a young, and relatively above avg OL. We must address the OL in the offseason. Did you see the holes Minn lline started to make with Hutch and Mount McKinnie on the left side.

Hutchinson is considered the best OG in the game today. That alone was going to make their line better. Unfortunately, there is no such impact OL in this year's FA crop.
Depending on Fonoti to stay in shape is not a wise thing. The talent is there but he needs to show more dedication and work ethic.

2nd round pick the team would be in line for picking up a good OL there whether it be a guard or a LT. Maybe they can pull off something like San Diego did last year getting their starting LT there.
