I wouldn't mind Miami bringing in Lucky Whitehead to compete with Grant for the punt return job and possible 6th receiver on the roster. The Cowboys released Whitehead today, partially because of minor arrest that he claims is a case of mis-identity and that he was in a different state at time the report claims he was arrested. The Cowboys really like rookie Ryan Switzer as a returner/slot receiver behind Cole Beasley, so Whitehead was likely on his way out in a few weeks any way.

i'd rather stick with our own than bring in whitehead - we're about to start TC....he's got issues with partying already and we've got options at return-man and 6th wr....no need to rattle the cage with this kid

That guy is no where fit for this team mentally, maybe not the NFL period. He is out shoplifting, believe it was him in past that had some DUI(might have been another cowboy though), but the one that takes the cake is the mess he got caught up in with his dog kidnapped, ransomed, then turns out it was a rapper that bought his dog from Whitehead's ex.. yeah think I will keep circus away from Miami, we have seen enough over the years.

EDIT for link to that exact story for those unaware of what rambling about: https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/201...ad-kidnapped-dog-cowboys-rapper-dallas-ransom

He was charged with shop lifting, and then decided to skip his court date. The Cowboys dropped him today, which the Cowboys don't do unless 1) it's obvious he's guilty and 2) he sucks. If a player doesn't fit those two criteria for their legal issues, Dallas doesn't release their troubled players.

In other words, hell no.

The police are now saying that Whitehead isn't the man that was charged for shoplifting and that Whitehead was misidentified. So it now looks like Dallas cut him for nothing. I say bring him in to replace Grant. I know I held my breath every time he went back to field a kick or punt.

Geriatric Jones just can't get it right. LOL

Keeps the idiots and but jumps the gun on player situations like this.

LOL

We don't have enough roster spots for the WR's we already have.

Come on guys it's not that hard to figure out how you can make this work. Just cut udfa rookie wr Malcom Lewis and bring in Whitehead to compete for the job. I'm sure Whitehead would have a better shot at making the roster than Lewis.

You could say we don't have enough roster spots for the number of o-linemen, db's, running backs or linebackers we have too. Same with every team. That's why teams make roster cuts before the regular season starts.

While I agree with you, I feel like a part in it all was Jones using it as example to send message to Zeke. I think by now all fans, media, etc.. know that if you are producing for the team and a star, you rarely get punished, but if you are average range, see ya. So it sends message to Zeke, even though it's a empty ended message(which probably falls on deaf ears anyways), sends a message to league that hey Cowboys are on top of things, and gives NFL website something to publish on their new fancy look to the website.

All in all though, Jones remains a loud mouth, babbling moron that gets lucky every so often.
