Lwienski new starting LG

Couldn't say I expected him to be a starter when we signed him...this could be another rough year of o-line play.

I did. Here's my comments about the guard spot right after the trades and the draft:

GUARD: As mentioned before, the Phins drafted Satele and also signed Esera. But that’s not all they’ve done. The Phins went out and signed Guard Chris Liwienski. Chris Liwienski was a starter for the Vikings and their OL has been no slouches over the last few years. He was probably our best OL picked up outside the draft and could likely start at one of the guard positions on opening day. He’s not a pro-bowl player but he’s pretty rock solid, technically sound, and doesn’t get beat too often. This was a great pickup.

Then I predicted our starting OL as:

LT – Vernon Carey
LG – Chris Liwienski
C - Jonathan Ingram
RG –Rex Hadnot
RT – Anthony Alibi

GO PHINS~!

I would just have Satele at Center over Ingram.

When we signed him? Who else did we have that could have started? With Satele still at center, I don't see a better option.

Our offensive line is going to be bad again regardless. Three starters out of five are returning, but are all playing different positions.

I was expecting some help from the draft. He is a backup level player...even with our abysmal o-line, I thought he would continue to be a backup.

At least our starting QB, whether it be Green or Culpepper will be mobile enough to escape the constant swarm of defenders that will be on them. Oh wait...our punter could probably outrun those two.

It may be bad but at least you got an "offensive minded" head coach who want ignore it the way JImmy, Wanny & Nicky did. When your offense is sputerring, an offensive coach will switch players around and do what it takes to get it corrected. With the defensive minded coach, the offense goes into a "don't take any chances shell" and the approach is the defense will have to win the game with field position and turnovers. That's what we've seen the last 10 years

I seriously doubt that Alabi can beat out Shelton, in fact if Alabi does not step it up he could be gone.

Liwienski is terible ,,,, he is by far our worst starter

Liwie isn't any better or worse than Rex Hadnot overall, a serviceable player.
Cam obviously felt he was worth a shot; at least as good as James and at a cheaper price.
