Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys DL Marcus Spears' future with the team could be unsettled. There has been talk about moving Spears out of the lineup and possibly off the team with a draft-day trade.

That's why their fans always include Spears and carpenter in trade talks, because they have underachieved so far.

You must be joking, an underachieving DE that said how happy he was that Parcells was gone for a Pro Bowler?!?!

It's not new news. The cowboys have been unhappy with his play, they are loaded in the front 7 with alot of bodies, and what better time to trade him than at draft time.

All because you heard this for the first time today does not make it new news. They had a similar article in the dallas paper months ago regarding Spears.

The fact of the matter is, the cowboys were unhappy with him last year, they were talking about dangling him before, so this isn't new. I am not saying you shouldn't have started this thread, because like you, some people maybe didn't know about it.

I would say NO one before I posted this...really knew that he could be traded...now did they? The fact that Parcells drafted him has alot to say on what Parcells may or may not do...and IF they could work out a trade for Taylor and Spears...wouldn't that be the same as getting a first rounder for Taylor...seems to me both Dallas and the Dolphins make out and save face. I'm not saying it will happen...just that now it could happen.

I don't even know why Dallas would trade for JT in the first place. They're loaded at LB, including two OLBs that had more sacks than JT did last season (Ware 14, Ellis 12.5). Not to mention they have a lot of potential in Anthony Spencer and possibly Kevin Burnett as well. It just makes no sense to me.
As for Spears, he has been a huge underachiever. People were comparing him to Richard Seymour because of his size and strength. Those predictions were way off as Spears plays so stiff. He offers nearly no pass-rush and is mediocre against the run. If he was anywhere near the player they expected him to be, then he wouldn't be on the trade block. Just because Parcells drafted him doesn't mean he still thinks highly of him. Infact, I bet Parcells stomach turns everytime he realizes that he could've selected Luis Castillo instead that year. I'll go out on a limb and say if Spears is traded, the Cowboys will get a 4th round pick or less.

Trading Taylor for Spears is the definition of stupidity. we are much better off getting a 2nd round pick. Spears has like 4th or 5th round value. You think he's good. Well he isn't.

And again you are forgetting about spencer. The kid has been working hard this summer and was a #1 pick just a year ago. He's the rotation. Jones is not trading for taylor and taking on his massive salary. They can't even fit him in, nor will Miami take Spears straight up for him because Spears sucks.

Saying Spencer hasn't done anything is like people who never saw a single dolphin game last year say Ginn did nothing at WR last year as a rookie, so that means Ginn won't do anything next year according to your logic.. So do you see how ridiculous that sounds?

I can't wait til the draft is over so we can get away from such ridiculous proposals.
