From the Orlando Sentinnal:

NBA teams can begin courting free agents today, and power forwards Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Udonis Haslem are among several players who interest the Orlando Magic

Of course. Because they don't already have one excellent power forward and didn't just draft another power forward 11th overall.

The Magic should make a run at Antonio Daniels. He's probably a big enough point guard that they can afford to play Steve Francis at the 2.

Man if the Magic sign him I would be crushed. I would hate to see him leave Miami period, but for him to end up in Orlando would absolutely crush me. I can't stand the Magic they are the enemy! :D

They are also looking at Daniels. The signs are pointing more and more that Howard or Vaquaz will be playing Center so another PF like Haslim is not such a bad idea imo.

You don't know? I lived in Miami from 1973-1999. I do not like the city of Miami, but I love all of Miami sports.

Orlando is a beautiful place to live. I just don't like our B-Ball team. :D

Signing Daniels would be the best thing they could do.

If they move Vazquez to the 5 (which I think they will), will Haslem come to Orlando to pick up scrap minutes? It's a reasonable question, I think. In any event, Orlando can only offer the MLE and Miami can (and I think would) match up to that point, so it's probably moot.

i dont want to sign a PG. we have 3 already. we have to sign a SG and trade francis.

Looks like Haslim could be gone.

Sources indicate the Cavaliers are interested in setting up a meeting with Haslem to convince the third-year forward he can be part of the team's future, and they could be prepared to offer Haslem more than the five-year, $33 million deal the Heat can offer.

Word among players is that LeBron James has become a Haslem fan after watching him the past two years and playing with him in the Rookie Challenge games the past two All-Star weekends.

He would make a great backup to Gooden and a nice piece of the bench..

 :shakeno:

Haslem will stay with the Heat. I would be very surprised if he didn't. At the very least, they'd do a sign-and-trade with Cleveland and get Gooden or Varejao. Probably Gooden, because Cleveland wants Varejao, although I'd rather get Varejao.

Yeah...brilliant move by Cleveland...pay somebody 40 million to sit on the bench...BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

Well with Z reupping for an absurd amount of money the suiters for Haslem just lessened by one. Hopefully they will agree quickly and get this out of the way before some agent convinces Haslem hes worth 10 mil a yr....
