I love the fact that the Trifecta love to aquire players in pairs. Since they have been here they have drafted two QBs with tons of potential, Two Corners, Two DE, They signed Wilson while already having Bell, They sign JT while already having Porter and offcourse reunite the R & R express. I like how they drafted Turner and Hartline and there affinity for building the trenches. Guys something special is developing in Miami and it is so great to see how we have people who know how to work the football side of things. Now a look at possible Tandems

Davis & Smith
Merling & Langford
Porter & JT
Ronnie & Ricky
Henne & White
Wilson & Bell
Long & Carey
Turner & Hartline

Excellent point. They also picked up Berger who is a forgotten Man along with Grove to play C/G. They love to pick up two of everything. It is a pretty good philosophy and idea. This way there is always compatetion and if one of the players messes up or slacks the other play could challenge him or unseat the other player from his position.

I think most of these guys you've paired in your own mind but Miami didn't do anything with "pairs" in mind. Jason Taylor and Joey Porter, for instance. What does one have to do with another? What do Ricky and Ronnie have to do with each other? Smiley and Thomas? Where are the common denominators other than that they're all significant role players and in that way you could say that about any two players at the same position?

The pairing phenomenon has been primarily seen in the draft.

DE Phil Merling - 2nd Round
DE Kendall Langford - 3rd Round

OG Shawn Murphy - 4th Round
OG Donald Thomas - 6th Round (had no 5th Rounder)

RB Jalen Parmele - 6th Round
RB Lex Hilliard - 6th Round

CB Vontae Davis - 1st Round
CB Sean Smith - 2nd Round

WR Patrick Turner - 3rd Round
WR Brian Hartline - 4th Round

Tony Sparano in interviews says that this has all been coincidental...but I highly doubt it.

How about Ginn and Boldin?? I just had to say it...lol

CK I am very aware of what Tony said, but It does have to make you happy that just because they have a Yeremiah Bell, that does not mean they wont sign a Gibril Wilson. Also JT will have to play opposite to Porter and Ricky and Ronnie are a Runningback tandem.

CK even though Sparano said what he said it is a huge coincedence that we have seen pairing in the draft. I think as straight forward as Tony is he might have been trying to keep secret Draft strategy.

When you talk about the pairs as they were drafted in consecutive rounds like the ones I outlined, that's where I think you have a trend.

But otherwise I'm not sure I understand the point in bringing up Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. Both players were here when they got here. And I'm also not sure why bring up Jason Taylor and Joey Porter because both players were here when they got here and they actually broke up that pairing because it was too expensive, and they only welcomed it back when Jason Taylor was willing to take peanuts to play here.

Plus, JT and JP will be rotating with each other in the same position as much as they'll be playing oppposite each other. Expect only a handful of snaps a game like maybe 10-15 or 10-20 where they play opposite each other.
