I think it's a good time to say that Wayne is doing a heck of job with his head coach search. have you heard of an owner who has log this much air time flying into different cities and even a country! I think he feels the pain we all are going through right now and I couldnt be more happier than I am right now. While the site( PFT.com) may come up with some B.S stories, but I was thrilled to see the headline " Wayne visits 7th coach in 5th city". I can not recall an owner show this much determination in their job then now. He's not making the same mistake he did last time. God bless you Wayne!! Your the right owner of this team to take us to the next level.

If he was smart, he'd let someone with a football mind participate in the process. Mueller is on the outside looking in right now from everything that gets reported, and I can't say I have a ton of faith in Wayne, Wiedemeier, and Bailey- three guys with tremendous business accumen, but not football minds- to pick the right guy. We'll see.

I agree, i wish i was that rich to just be able to fly my jet to 5 cities in one day!

Exactly. Before we get too excited and start labeling WH as a fantastic owner, let's take a closer look at what is actually occuring. The people searching for a QB are not exactly football people. It has been, in my opinion, one of the biggest faults in this process, and ohters that occured earlier (JJ's hiring, Wanny's hiring, and Saban's hiring).
I think WH has some good qualities as an owner (i.e. he's loaded and he doesn't interfere) but he does not have a great record in his selection of coaches. The worst part of this process is that, as Skolnick noted, the Dolphins have it backwards. They should be hiring a personnel guy first and then hire the coach. ALthough Mueller is still the GM, his absebce form this process leads me to believe that his future in Miami is not bright. He may stick around, but if so, he will continue to play a minor role.

Wayne is trying to make a SPLASH...

What if Wayne does get Pete Carroll....then he lets him spend and spend and we still don`t win...then Pete goes back to College and our Salary Cap is worse then now.....We need a Football GM in Charge right here right now and to pick a Coach who will work from the ground UP...

It's always nice to see people with an unbias opinion. I concur.

While many fans are in awe of Wayne's "no stone unturned" approach... it a lot easier to look at this elephant from afar. Exactly how many of these so called "interviews" did Wayne personally fly his jet to attend?

1, Pete Carroll.

Wayne has never been one to hide his intentions well. He wants Carroll because he is seen as one of the hottest coaching names in the game. Ala Jimmy Johnson and Nick Saban.

Believe what you want, but all of these "interviews" are merely a smoke screen to convey the appearance of due diligence. He wants Carroll and he won't stop until he has him.

Our next coach will not be chosen admist the cannon fodder that's been "invited" to interview. It will be the guy Wayne puts the "press" on. Pay attention to Wayne's travels. That will tell you where the coach at the top of the list resides.

Don't be impressed by "money". Be impressed with results.

Wayne's yet to deliver us anything. So, let's not sit by the pond and wait for him to walk on water.

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Over the years he has owned the team i have heard many people say he is the ideal owner to work for.

That may be true. But he has displayed an inability to learn from his past mistakes, and that's VERY disturbing to me. This is the most important hire in the history of the franchise, and he's doing the same **** that has netted him lousy end results in the past. No football personnel guy helping with the hire. Seeking a big name who wants complete control. It's okay to make mistakes, as long as you learn from them. He doesn't appear to have learned a thing.

I trust Wayne and this doesnt look like anything in the past when he rolled out wheel barrels full of money to land the big named coach. It looks to me like he's learned some very expensive lessons and is using that experience to develop a process he is comfortable with. I dont think a big name will put butts in the seats anymore. If the Dolphins dont win he's going to lose alot more money than a few gauranteed coaching contracts

You make a very good point!

Well Wayne has hired three coaches and twice he went out and got the biggest fish in the sea at the time. Johnson and saban were both top tier choices when he signed them, can't help that both guys egos were bigger than thier coaching here. The one mistake I think Wayne made was letting a guy that was quitting on you help choose the next coach in Wanny, Wanny was more than qualified to be our coach though even if he did not work out either.

The one thing I wish Wayne would do is somehow make up with Shula and get his help in process, I think he would have been invaluable.

I'm sorry, Wayne may be eager to fill the HC's shoes, but I think he got this thing backwards. He should start from the top of the ORG and work his way down.

Yeah Wayne is a great owner, I'm sure glad he's with the Phins. Hopefully he's around for a long time!
