the beast Florida safety. People seem to forget that he is a junior and can come out to the draft if he decides to. I personally feels he stays for a senior year, but for a second round pick, he would be one hell of a replacement for Gibril Wilson. One of the hardest hitters in college football.

i like wright a lot - but he's not the 'coverage' kind of safety we're looking for. i want a pure coverage guy in the earl thomas mold if at all possible. i think he'll end up being a SS in the NFL - or should at least.

I like Major. I went to High School with the guy, but he's really just a younger version of the guys we already have: nasty hitters, solid run supporters, weak in coverage.

For anybody who cares, reports seem to say Wright is declaring for the draft. Extremely dumb move on his part, as another year I believe could've put him into early 2nd, late 1st territory.

As it stands, he'll be in all likelyhood a 4th or 5th round pick, which I believe is tremendous value for Wright.

I don't care if Major Wright, or any other prospect, is not a prototype FS. We need instinctive players who don't get suckered in by offensive, can dignose plays, and be on top of it. We don't have that at DB, and we need those kinds of players.

This. I like Wright as well, but he's not really better than we already have. We need a coverage safety, and Wright is not that.

Well it isn't like the guy can't be coached or improve in that area right? Hopefully his upside isn't maxed out right? Just saying.....

Yeah, I dont think his upside is maxed out at all. I wouldn't want to draft him till pretty late though if he's available. I think another year in college would have done him well.

if we got him we would have Bell, Wright, Wilson and Clemons without one legit starting FS

There's a lot better players who can be coached up as well, who are already good coverage safeties. Just saying.

Im a UF fane and I love Major! With that being said, I believe he lost his job last year, and if not the starting job, he was on the bench way too much for my blood. It may be nothing more than UFs depth that caused it or as other have said it could be because he was sometimes lost in coverage. I wouldnt mind a late flyer on him.
