This would be the best time to try and make a run at Brees. It's worth trying, right?
 
It's plausible if the Saints over play this and he walks.

And I'd take him over Peyton in a heartbeat.

But yes, fantasy land.

How can we afford him...this year? Brees wants to be paid like the top 5 QB that he is and we only have enough cap room to sign him for only 1/4 of the season.
 
Thats what cutting Merling was for... saved up that last 1.25 million to make a run at Drew. it all makes sense now
 
Can't be done. Saints tagged him with the exclusive rights franchise tag. He can't even negotiate with another team.
 
If only we'd known Sean Payton would get suspended. We could've traded Fist Pump for Drew Brees. :)
 
Also coming out of fantasy land, Redskins see mistake of trading the next three years away for a QB that is about to get rocked all season long behind a nasty O-line...and trade back with the dolphins for just this and next years 1st round pick...the colts pass on Luck do to RGHYPE and "changing for the future of the NFL" and the Phins get Luck.

This is my FantasyLand (plus the next three super bowls)
 
HAHAHAHA with what cap space on a mediocre team that can't do anything until next year's free agency if Ireland doesn't screw that up for us too. I would love that this suggestion might be a viable option, but we would have to cut like our top 5 paid players to do it. If that would even do it cap wise.
