I think this will be tell tale stretch for Saban in the CBA does not does not get done. There will have to be some fast major moves made and quick decisions changing the face of the team more than we would like.

Once the players are in place haste can be made slowly, but the months ahead would be far from moving SLOWLY.

It would be an interesting time to watch saban but I think it would be very challenging.

It will be challenging for Saban to go through these uncharted territories of the changing landscape of the NFL if the CBA does not get agreement. The Salary cap, free agency, trades will be quite different. It will be difficult for many teams especially Miami. It will be a period in time where Saban will really prove himself, because it will be much harder with no long term extension to the CBA.

The spot light is on Saban, to manage the situation well for sure. If reports of bing 20 million over the cap, 2nd worst, it will be hard. And starting with no QB will be hard if Brees goes elsewhere.

I think he will have to make some fast moves which will have a much different feel that this make haste slowly stuff. Miami may be limited if they can not clear their cap space fast enough to get the needed pieces.

Gus going before there is a sure fix at QB for example. But we may see a lot more of it than we would like and it will test Saban. I guess that covers what I was trying to say with the original post.

Sounds obvious enough but it will be very interesting to watch.

Theres gonna be a lot of good players in street clothes this next season...count on it.

That had crossed my mind, but I doubt it. You'll see more than a few of these guys playing for smaller contracts with the promise of an enormous uncapped salary ahead.

You would think that teams like the dolphins (or any team) wouldn't let themselves get in to a bad cap situation, knowing the situation of the CBA.

They must know most teams feelings all along. I can understand that rich teams that built the popularity of the nfl don't feel they should have to support the weaker teams that have joined the gang to reap the benefits.

Unfortunately, an even playing field seems best at this cross road with a cap, but they obviously don't see it that way.

Seau has been talked about for months with regards to being released, however, wouldn't Saban think about waiting to Thursday, makes feel right that this CBA is not going to happen.

Put it this way, the owners know and we don't in my mind.

I sure Saban has all of his T's crossed and i's dotted. He has a plan for both guarantee that.

Agreed. But Plan B is not as competitive as Plan A. Plan B hurts as far as I can see. 8-8 seasons bite. I don't think there is a person on here that did not want to see a push this year.
