Last year we played pretty terrible teams en route to the division title and playoffs. This year, "turning things around" meant wins against the Jets (twice), the Patriots and Panthers. And it'll mean wins against the Jaguars, Titans, Texans and Steelers.
If we were to assume that we win out, which is a tough assumption to make, then the record of the 10 teams we beat will have been 50-58 (.463) against non-Dolphin opponents (as of right now). Last year that number for our 11 victories was 68-95 (.417).
Last year, losses came at the hands of opponents with a 43-30 (.589) combined record. This year, that record is currently 46-18 (.719).
And the big difference, I think, is that last year we lost to three really good teams...the Cardinals in their house, the Patriots after they got into a rhythm with Cassel, and the Ravens. You can count the second game against the Ravens if you want. None of the four games were close. This year I think we've faced the two toughest teams in the league, and we took them both to the wire...showing that we can PLAY with any team.
