When Louisville's Kyle Kuric slammed the ball in the final seconds of overtime to give the Cardinals a five-point lead over No. 6 Pittsburgh, nearly everyone in attendance at the Yum! Center in Louisville thought the game was over.
That includes Jordan Alcazar, a male cheerleader who, amid his celebration of the dunk -- and the apparent victory -- tossed the basketball into the air.
Luckily for Alcazar, the last-ditch effort fell short and the Cardinals emerged with the upset.
"He thought the game was over because clearly the kids know not to touch the ball," said Todd Sharp, U of L's spirit coordinator, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. "We were just like every Cardinal fan in the house, so elated that we were winning that game that he just lost his mind for a minute."
