That team needs deep threat bad!

Wilson's ball placement has gotten a few WRs hurt. Wilson depends on WRs making the plays to win mediocre throws. And Stills depends on good ball placement to make his game. He's not a catch radius or contested, physical kind of WR.

haha comon man, Wilson is far from perfect, especially throwing the ball, but he is GREAT on the deep ball. Overall great quarterback and fantastic leader, too.

edit: forgot to address your continued hate on Stills - he's not gonna Calvin Johnson the deep ball but the dude has done a fairly good job of tracking balls in the air. His catch radius is actually notable, I'd say. He's far from Mike Wallace. You've always been down on the guy but I told you in conversation here before the season he would put up these EXACT numbers he did (700 yards, 6-8TD, etc). I think you should give the guy a little more credit.

Richardson and Lockett are both deep threats. They need Online and new Offensive Coordinator.

I'm not too sure about the Seahawks part of this post BUT Stills may not be a physical WR but he makes pretty damn good adjustments to the ball deep downfield. A few TD's he caught were great passes from Ryan others were adjusted to while the ball was in the air.

Why? They have like 3 guys already that can do that.

If anyone breaks the bank for Stills, it increases the compensatory pick.
Successful teams maintain their fiscal discipline. I like Stills, but not enough to break the salary cap structure. I will gladly take a comp pick if Stills gets a ridiculous offer.

I want him back but he will get a big offer! So we need to look at Goodwin, Ginn or Jackson.

It's an old conversation, but it's still true: numbers don't tell the whole tale.

I'll say this for Stills: According to Gase, Stills rededicated himself to the game this off-season and pre-season. Which is telling -- being a contract year. But the point holds: he upped his game to some degree.

But my criticism of him still holds. Caveat: Miami has done zero to replace or groom a WR that can be a deep threat. And Parker is a majorly underwhelming *1* WR. So I'm not in favor of jettisoning Stills for nothing. But Stills is very replaceable for a team that is able to draft skill positions. Historically, Miami has been one of the worst in the league at this. So I don't take Stills for granted, given the utter ineptitude of the FO for the last many years. But just because the comparison cupboard is bare doesn't make Stiills better than what he is. If a team breaks the bank for him, Miami has to let him walk.

Just mho.

If Miami were to sign Stills to a $9 - $11 milion per year deal do you think there's a higher likelyhood that the team will regret it after the 2017 or 2018 season or look back and think it was money well spent? I personally think the later is much more likely if you break the bank for a player like Stills. A player that if your plans for the current roster plays out Stills would be the third receiving option at best, maybe less if Miami could find a receiving tight end. Is That really worth a big $$ deal?
