The Dolphins expect to address the guard position again in the draft if the chips fall in the proper order.

And if they don't ...

The club is putting both Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner, starters a year ago, on a significant weight training program this offseason in hopes both can improve as players. That's it. That's the answer.

Bushrod is a fig leaf to angry fans wanting upgrade and new people. Perhaps he can regain the form he showed during his days in New Orleans and then again in Chicago. If not, the team will move forward toward other possibilities.

Oh, so they were lifting weights the wrong way. That's all that was wrong.

Genius! If it works we should try it with every lineman.

/sigh

Didnt work with Martin, wont work with Thomas

I'm still Believer in turner, Thomas not so much.

There's still a lot of times, players available, players who will be cut, draft, well get a guard, I'm not worried about.

Although it Would be nice to get one now just to shut everyone up.

2nd rd guard this year. Who knows maybe Douglas or Turner will turn a corner. We can hope. I know it's early but this seems like a bit of a patch job team

I don't think Gase has those guys in mind as starters. Back ups, at the most! And I hope we can get a decent guard in FA ( I like Vazquez the best of what's out there do to the fact that he's younger and knows Gase system) and a 2nd Rg OG in the draft so that Turner and Thomas stay as backups. Hell, if Thomas is released...even better!

:puke: I think a little bit of my fanhood died in me after reading that.

With the money and draft picks we have already spent on the oline it kind of has to be a patch job.

Your not going to ever win a thing blowing all your $ and picks on the Oline.

What the **** is going on within the organization to 1) not address guard so far in FA, and 2) think that there is any hope left for Dallas ****ing Thomas.

So the Dallas Thomas horror show will continue, God help Tannehill

Don't like the plan oppo of Maxwell.

Don't like the plan at guard.

The team has to fill these early in the draft. Got to fill the DLine in FA and find a WLB somewhere in the draft.

I'm not a Thomas hater like most, I find it hard to hate on any player who has worked hard enough to make it on an NFL roster. However the only program Thomas should be on in Miami is a Wait Program.... as in wait to hear you've been officially released. At this point Thomas could breeze through pre-season looking like an all-pro and people still wouldn't feel comfortable keeping him here as a backup. Thomas needs to go to another team if he wants a shot at a future NFL career.
