I wouldn't go so far as to say that Peyton Manning is afraid of ANYBODY. That said, I do find it telling that the only two teams he's visited (and one of them, Denver, wasn't even being mentioned as a contender until he went there out of left field) just happen to reside in the two weakest divisions in the NFL. Manning may not be afraid of any team or player, but he sure seems to be looking for the path of least resistance to the playoffs. He surely isn't considering o-line talent, because both teams are quite suspect on that front .. especially Arizona.
Would he even be considering Denver had they not overachieved and won the dreadful AFC West last December? We'll never know for sure, but I highly doubt it.
As for Arizona, let's face it .. he's only considering that organization because of Larry Fitzgerald. Anybody that believes otherwise is fooling themselves. The Cardinals have been one of the worst run organizations in sports. If not for Fitzgerald and their flukey run to the SB a few back behind Kurt Warner, the Cardinals wouldn't even be on the map, golf courses or not.
And lastly, the only reason Miami isn't running away with the Manning derby is due to Jeff Ireland and Stephen Ross (probably more due to Ireland) as many have speculated. Miami has WAY more going for them than Denver and Arizona combined. Better overall talent sans a QB. Better o-line to protect Manning (especially with a healthy Jake Long), no state taxes, better weather, Peyton's offseason address, etc. However that has seemingly been cancelled out by one of the douchiest GM's in the league and an overzealous owner than has yet to learn the appropriate way to approach things and conduct business in this league.
Too bad for us. It'll take a miracle to undo all the damage that's been done to this franchise's image and reputation the past several years.
