Imo if manning isn't signed tonight we move on and grab flynn at 4 tomorrow. The dolphins can't afford to go into this season without manning and flynn. Ross should meet with manning and just shoot him straight and tell him how much he would love for him to be our qb but at the same time let him know we have a glearing hole at the quaterback position. Both Denver and Arizona have qbs that they have already invested in so they don't have to worry if peyton doesn't pick them.

The deadline IMO is tomorrow 4pm est.

maybe theres already a decision on the "decision".with the dolphins in "lockdown" mode one would have to assume SOMETHING is happenning.

Fully FULLY agree with this thread. One of the more lucid posts to come out of the hysteria surrounding this team the past week.

Dolphins need to be bold and not be stuck twiddling their thumbs. Obviously Peyton is trying to get cute, meeting teams with no agent, being coy about who he will meet with, and pushing back the timetable on a decision. We DON'T have time for that this time around with the possibility of losing Flynn.

Get on the phone with him today, find out his intentions, and then either sign him or go full tilt at Flynn.

...why can't I shake the feeling the Dolphins will do the total opposite of this and be stuck with Moore as opening day starter?

I would like Manning to have conversations with Miami by tomorrow. If we don't them let's move on.

I'm tired of being played by the media, and losers on people, where everyone speculates this and that.

Let's jst make a plan and go already! Fisher dragged it out... if Manning wants to drag it out, then he really doesn't want to be here.

I have no idea if Manning has already met with the Dolphins but I believe he is too classy of an individual to not at least have given us an idea if we’re even in the running. Assuming Flynn is plan B, I don’t think he would keep us hanging while Cleveland signs Flynn, only to rebuke us later.

Nice premise - that's until you factor in the possibility that the guy who knows Flynn as well as most anyone, when it comes to launching his HC career, might just have no confidence in him. If that's the case, no skin off our back continuing on with the Manning Slow Waltz.

Personally, I wouldn't go "all in" on anyone other than Manning. Flynn hasn't proven a damn thing. The last thing we need to do unless our HC is 100% completely sure that Flynn is coachable and hasn't hit his ceiling is sign an unproven guy to a big deal just because he is the next big thing. At minimum if our HC is giving a green light with Flynn, he damn well should be the one to be the scapegoat if he doesn't work out. Even though Moore isn't going to set the world on fire, we could have done better as a team with him under center. Cleveland other than us are about the only given teams in line for a qb that isn't named Manning. I say we make damn sure we get things done correct this time around. We can't afford any more setbacks or the team will once again be back in rebuilding mode. I don't know about you but I am tired of this crap.

Manning or Moore. One of those players will be our starter this fall.

Flynn doesn't impress me, and apparently Philbin isn't that impressed either. If he was the guy, we would not be talking(not talking) to Manning.

This slow dance(nice way to describe it) is intended to allow Flynn to move on without Philbin burning his friendship.

Peyton will allow AZ to move on(by stalling) because they have cap issues. They never had a shot.

Denver can afford to wait, and so can the Fins because it doesn't really affect our draft stratedy because Ireland is not planning to draft Hennehill in the first round. I think we grab a project in the 2-3 round and roll with Manning or Moore.

If Cleveland signs Flynn, what happens to McCoy?

I agree with this to a point...
Even if Philbin is sold on Flynn, we'd still be talking with Manning. He's the only QB we could be talking to without hurting our chances at Flynn.
If we don't sign either Flynn or Manning, which says a ton about Flynn, then I too believe we'll go into camp with Moore as our starter.

Ya, I hear you. Pick a plan and go already. So far their plan is to watch everything unfold. If you have graded out the most important things for the Franchise you should already be in motion. We are behind once again. Perhaps this is the type of control someone like Fisher wants, so you can get on with things. Miami clearly does not know how to manage it's most important asset either. Yes those people called fans. Public comments can be a wonderful thing if managed well.
