I thought that this guy was gonna be our future at NT, but he seem like a very small DT in the games that i watched. I believe that i saw him play some DE, but i am not quite sure. So if you don't care, could somebody please explain to me how Wright will fit in the defense?

wright definitly doesnt fit the NT way. right now it looks like he'll play OE in the 3-4 that saban will play some now and more in the future.

Are you sure about the OE postion? I thought that the OE is for the DE's that are small like JT. Wright is a small DT, but he isn't that small. I would think that he would be a DT in the 4-3 and the DE in the 3-4.

He's a year or two away from being a player and a consistent contributor. We knew that going in.

i dont get what u mean by not big...i coulda swore he was 6'6" 320 + and hes pretty fast

It's exactly what it means. Wright doesn't look like a big guy like i thought that he would. He is a small DT and Vickerson looked bigger then Wright did. I tried to look up a pic of him in the Bears or Jags game, but i couldn't find any.

Don't know what planet you guys flew in from, but here on Earth, men that stand 6'6" and weigh in at over 330 pounds are by no means consider anything but humongous. Remember a guy named Darryl Gardner? Same size. Yes, different muscle structure, but will still empty a pool with a good cannonball.

As for the nose tackle thing. He is plenty big for NT. Speaking from first hand experience, there are two kinds of nose tackles. 1) Strong, quick and a little on the small size and used to gain quick penetration (i.e. John Randle)...or 2) HUUUUUUUGE mass of flesh to clog up middle...only talent needed is stay low and don't lose your ground (i.e. Keith Traylor/Pat Washington). I think that Wright has the TOOLS to become a hybrid of both, but for now Saban is just hoping he can plop that huge pile of flesh in the middle and scare the poor kid into not losing the sumo contest.

well i remember seeing him in that one incident with him so called "crying" and his gut was hanging out if thats what you mean by big

The reason why i am saying that he looked small to play the NT is because i think of Pat Williams and Keith Traylor. Maybe he just looked small because he was outta shape.

If he dropped back to his USC weight, which was what, 310, and being 6'6'' giving him Richard Seymour like measurabels I'd imagine he could play some DT in the 4-3, and end in the 3-4.
