5/75 would essentially tie him with Josh Norman for the top CB contract.

Keep in mind Norman reached UFA status.

Doing Howard early benefits both parties as you aren't dealing with this ballooning to 5/85 or more in 2020 as Howard has plenty of incentive to get off that 1.2 million 2019 number and guaranteeing himself early.

This should be a slam dunk extension but it's the Dolphins so who knows.

Hopefully, Howard's agent doesn't rape us. I think that X is so good that he can probably demand what ever he wants. Are there any players left that won't just kill a teams cap for their own personal gain? But, being that you are one injury away I can see the players side too.
