I read post after post talking about our inactivity in this free agency period. While I understand some may be upset and i would like to bring in some big time guys as well this FO has shown that they will not detour from its path in building this team.

I think the most valuable part of this FA period is the fact we didnt lose any of our own key free agents. We signed Carey to keep our bookends together and keep his versatility to play anywhere on the line. We kept Crowder while many dont like him i see us bringing in a guy to compliment his style but he is a key part of this D and if we get a guy that lets Channing roam around he will be markedly more effective. And we resign Bell who was the leader of our secondary and now has a running mate will prob be even better than last year.

So while we may not be bringing in 154 million dollars of players which FYI is completely stupid on the skins part we kept important pieces to our team all of which play a key role its not like we kept the 52nd and 53rd guys on our roster we signed leaders.

So i would rate our FA over that of the skins and other teams just throwing money at players. We are building unity and keeping our core of talent together for a long time. So dont fret all is well in Dolphin land. :hi5:

The FO has done a fantastic job and is building the dolphins into a true contender. Wilson is a really good safety and will fit nicely alongside bell. I really regret the FO cutting Holiday though. He should have retired as a dolphin.

I posted about this yesterday when grading the FA period to date.

With the signing of Grove we have a ton of depth and competition on the OL

Wilson and Bell in the deep part of the secondary will creative positives in run stopping and hopefully in coverage.

Bringing back Crowder is great because while he's not a stud, he's a definite starter in the league.

I think we can now draft at the skilled positions (WR & CB) and we'll be looking great going into 2009.

GO PHINS!

Put it into prospective
Bell top3 safty if he hit FA
Channing top 3 ILB if he hit FA
Carey top 3 if he hit FA
Wilson top 3 safty in FA

Looks like a great FA period to me.

Plan your work, Work your plan, exist somewhere under the radar and give Belecheat all the sleepless nights she can handle.

Yeah i just think that to many people are enamored with signing huge names like they can in Madden

Yeah especially when you really look at teams like the Steelers, Colts and Pats they rarley go out and sign that big name. They keep there home grown talent around or sign those value free agents that do not have that huge price tag and might not be as good as the huge FA but can still compete for spots. So personally I love what the Office has done so far.

You are so right my man!!! Everyone wants big FA, but can anyone tell me what big FA that really worked other than Moss? It 's the moves that don't make the AP press that matters. I use to be into big FA until our 1996 year, then I moved to DC and watched the Redskins make the same mistakes every year and what has that got them? NOTHING.. So we need to relax and remember this is a 3 to 4 year project. I am even expecting us to take a step back next year because we are not built the way the FO wants us be. This is football not Madden and I understand that!!! So I will just sit back and watch everyone spend all their money while we do it the smart way and get football players and not I want my money players.....

I'm in a wait and see pattern. I don't agree with some of the signings, but, I am willing to give them a look based on last year.

I just think keeping these guys together in a system for 4 or 5 more years will make this a dynasty in the sense of a perennial playoff/SB contender. Building unity and cohesiveness with these guys goes a long way in bringing a winning culture to a franchise.
