He played DE this year for georgia, but projects outside as a rush linebacker. undersized about about 6'1 240. Great timed speed though with a 4.42 at the combine. Right now I dont think he would be more than situational rusher while he learns technique and gets more comfortable playing in space again. 42 QB pressures this year, 10.5 sacks, 12 TFL. Third is to high for him but I would look for him in the 5-6 range.

Marcus Howard Georgia 6-01/2 237
Strengths:
Outstanding timed speed...Great athleticism...Very quick with an excellent burst..A terror off the edge...Great range and does a fantastic job in pursuit..Superb agility and changes directions well...Has fluid hips to turn and run in coverage...A reliable tackler...Offers some versatility...Nice special teams potential...Has a lot of upside.

Weaknesses:
'Tweener who may have to make a position change...Is either extremely (DE) or a little (OLB) undersized depending on where he plays...Isn't very stout at the point and is a liability against the run..Can be physically manhandled..Struggles to shed blocks...Not a fit for everyone...One-Dimensional...Didn't start until his senior year.

Notes:
College defensive end who will likely have to make the move to outside linebacker in the pros...Began his college career as a strongside linebacker before moving to the defensive line in '05...Backed up Quentin Moses and Charles Johnson early in his career...After waiting his turn he really came on in 2007 and finished his career on a high note with 3 sacks against Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl...It is hard to define exactly how he'll fit in at the next level (3-4 OLB? 4-3 OLB? 4-3 DE?) but there will always be room for a top pass rusher with his type of elite speed and athleticism.

I don't think he fits the type of LB the Tirade is looking for.

I think he'll be a good rush linebacker because of his speed and pass rushing arsenal. Could be a guy that could develop into an all around linebacker once he learns the position, good athlete has alot of upside. I dont think he'll be there past the 3rd and I dont know if he's worth such an early 3rd round pick.

He'll be chosen considering the premium put on pass rushers. He'll be an early 3rd round selection

i wil tell u that he isnt that good. The only game he made a great impression was vs hawaii and lets just say thats not saying much. I pass on him

You obviously didn't see him play against Florida, Auburn and Kentucky.

I'm not saying we will draft Marcus but the Dolphins did request more video tape of him a couple of weeks ago.
