Marcus Spears injured, could be out for season

It could happen to anyone of the first round picks.Its a bad break for the team that draft such a player.We have seen plenty of those.

I know there were some on this MB that liked him but I am glad we didnt draft him.He looked too much like a tweener to me.
 
According to ESPNews he's only out 2-4 weeks.
 
I thought he was ideal for the role the Cowboys planned for him, LDE in a 3-4. Well, this could be a chance for another player like Chris Canty to impress the coaches.
Even though I'm no Cowboys fan, I do hope Spears recovers and can come back fully, next season. He seems like a really good kid.

The cowboys link above says time unknown up top, but down toward the bottom it says:
Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells and owner Jerry Jones just lost one of their first-round draft choices for the season after signing him to a five-year, $9.35-million deal with $6.7 million in guarantees just six days ago. That's a huge loss for a team trying to switch to a 3-4 defense because Spears had the versatility to play defensive end or slide over to the nose. He was expected to win the starting job at left end.

103.3 ESPN Radio (Dallas) just reported that its looking like the best case scenario is 6 weeks, and that he could feel the effects of the high ankle sprain for the rest of the season.
 
Too bad...i was really looking forward to seeing him in Parcell's new system. Hopefully he returns soon.
