The more practices that go by, the more I think Dolphins return specialist Marcus Thigpen won’t make the 53-man roster. Thigpen has been Miami’s primary kick returner the past two seasons. But with rule changes and less emphasis on kick returns, Thigpen’s value has decreased and he doesn’t offer much in other areas. The Dolphins have moved Thigpen from running back to wide receiver this offseason, but Thigpen isn’t making plays. If Miami can find a decent alternative to return kicks this preseason, Thigpen could be on the outs. Other possibilities include receivers Damian Williams and rookie Jarvis Landry.

Agree with Walker on Thigpen, it’s still early on but unless we have a rash of injuries seem to be better options maybe even on someone else’s last cuts if there are injuries.

It's too bad for the guy, I root hard for him since he went to IU.. He was really good his first year here but last year was such a flop

Moving him to WR was a death sentence for his roster spot. There is no way he beats out any of our top 5, and I'd like to see what Binns can do coming off an injury as well. He's not good enough as a KR to justify a roster spot just as that, especially since there are potentially electric returners that fail to make rosters every year.

Walker makes a good point on the diminished value of the KR. Thigpen is a long shot.

Don't know if he makes the roster but last year's blocking on special teams was almost as bad as the OL.

Thigpen back to the CFL...

Nic Grigsby is currently occupying your position in Winnipeg LOL

Not only has the role of KR slowly been dwindling away but Thigpen has not shown much at all returning kicks as of late.

I really dont see him making it this year. He has not been very impressive. And we have new guys that will take over that KR/PR spot.
Since his first year he has not been doing well. Had a nice catch against NE.

Thiggy will fight hard to hold his roster spot but I think that he's dead meat. Guy to watch as possible 6th WR and PR/KR duty is Damian Williams.

Has anyone else watched the blocking and tackling on last year's special teams. It was horrible, and Fields net suffered, as well as Thiggy's returns. True story.

I think Thiggy was done on draft day when Javaris laundry got signed.
