go to miamiherald.com...sports...miami dolphins...story is about : punter jones talks turkey early...SI says Olindo Mare is in the top 10 of players/coaches who have worn outr there welcome with their current team lol..u can say that again..i know there r many MARE haters here...so i figured id let u guys know...enjoy...

Kind of old news ,but thanks.

anyone who seriously hates Olindo Mare doesn't really have a clue what makes an admirable and football player... yeah, so he's missed a few kicks since his thigh injury... big deal... he's also won 3x more games than he's lost, with just his leg alone, when a horrible Miami offense couldn't ever get in the endzone... i don't believe this article for a second... he's loved in the lockerroom, he booms kickoffs, he actually makes great tackles in coverage, and he's still more reliable in the clutch than 90% of the drones who kick in the NFL today... you want to have a kicking calamity for years like some teams around the NFL have suffered through? say, like Dallas??? go ahead and cut Mare then... we'll see... real smart...

just settle down, and be happy we have a guy like Mare... in fact, Miami, in general has had tremendous good fortune with it's kicking for over 35 years... people just don't know what they've got til it's gone...

Are you serious? He's won 3X more games than he's lost? He has lost at least 3 games this year a lone or at least a chance to tie it. Mare has great kickoffs but if we need him in the clutch we are in trouble. Mare needs to go.

No. He used to be. Who have you been watching for the last few seasons?

Mare is kicking 62.5% right now, ranked 16th among NFL kickers.

That's pretty bad, not even close to top tier.

So he can boom a kickoff, what's the difference between starting off at the 20 or the 25... who cares? He doesn't score points, we could have won a bunch of games this year if he hadn't choked.

PC, Mare is not what he used to be, and he definately should not be given the $$ that he is being paid.

I don't believe Mare is done.

I still believe Mare is one of the better kickers in the league. He is in funk....I can't deny that. Mare is having confidence problems and most likely overthinking his field goal trys. He needs to go out and kick the crap out the ball and stop thinking so much.

You know a kicker is bad when it doesn't surprise you when he misses from 30-40 yards out. If there is one player on our team who is definitely done after the season its Mare.

I totally agree. So he's having a down year!! Give the guy a break. He will probably take a Pay cut to stay and he will hit 99% of the 50+ yarders next year. Oh and btw the season is not over. He can still recover this year. With our ST being very questionable at times, you can be very thankful that the ball goes through the endzone on the kickoff, as we have been burned by returns for TDs before. I think if he takes a paycut next year you have to keep him.

That's what he get's paid the big bucks for. He's no longer pulling his weight, and memory's are real short when millions of dollar are being paid out.

No he is not just having a down year, there have been several times when he has missed field goals over the past couple of years, both long and short ones, and he never comes though in the clutch.

OFF YEAR????:sidelol:

No NFL kicker has a worst field-goal percentage (.625) this season than Mare, who has a league-high nine misses.

How about WORST in the league. Not middle of the road which would be an off year. He is dead last....31 ahead of him.
