We need a franchise QB since marino, that has been our downfall, we picked up backups and people noone wanted, so go out and moveup in the draft with detroit, which miami is talking to detroit. you would have to give up your 1, 2b and either 2a or a player. if you can move up and take any QB you want quinn or russel if he falls to number 2.

but if you move up to number 2 and oakland takes russel, which i am 90% sure they will, then can you pass up on calvin johnson? he would really help culpepper out or would help your QB you draft in the 2-3 rd, maybe staton or smith. i would be for this to happen too.

Technically the last QB we drafted was Josh Heupel. But Marino was our last one in the 1st round. So far, we've tried everything but draft a QB in the 1st round so might as well see if that fixes things. I'd prefer Quinn because he seems more ready than Stanton right now. Stanton's got a lot of issues he needs to fix and if it weren't for his inflated value, he should've been no more than a 4th or 5th rounder whereas Edwards and Kolb would've been 6th or 7th rounders ala Ryan Fitzpatrick.

i mean, he was the last qb drafter that has started more than a few games for miami. miami needs to stop taking all the other teams's leftovers.

It's not as simple as throwing them our 9th, 40th 2B and a player.

that second pick is worth a ton on the draft value chart.

trading up in not a good idea.

that would pretty much even out if you throw the right player in it like maybe culpepper if you are gonna pick up quinn. then we could pick up either green or carr to teach quinn. i dont think culpepper would be a good teacher anyway. we dont have to trade up to spot two if raiders get carr in FA, which there is heavy take of that, cuz they probably will take johnson first. then i think det will take russel and browns will take AP (not doubts about that), and the only other team in my opinion is maybe wash or minn which we could easily trade ahead of them. so i think quinn is not to far to imagine.

I think you're right, the Quarterback position has been causing us a lot of problems since we last had Marino. Brady Quinn could very much be the answer to that problem. I mean we've tried just about everything in the book besides actually drafting a "Franchise" Quarterback and I don't think now it the time to pass on it. Trading down to get Quinn I think would be a smart idea. If that fails, well then my friend you can "offically" say we have tried EVERYTHING !!! I don't think Culpepper is the answer, so why pass on Quinn when we have a legit shot at him ?

I believe we also drafted QB Scott Mitchell in the 4th round...he was supposed to be Marino's heir apparent....turned into a bust.

He wasn't a bust for us. He played pretty well when Marino went down with that achilles injury in '93. The next year he signed with Detroit and led them to the playoffs.

Mitchell eventually ate himself out of Detroit by ballooning up to nearly 300 pounds.

at this point if we bring in green I can't see how culpepper has anything more than very little trade value to anyone.
I don't think you quite understand the points system for the nfl draft picks. You don't easily trade ahead of anybody in the top ten.

fine i have saw someones reasoning, not you though, and we could drop culpepper and raiders might pick him up. carr goes to minn and we will get a QB either russel, i doubt, or Quinn. detroit probably will take russel and cleveland IS gonna take AP (100% sure) and then quinn will fall to us.

Honestly, of all the teams ahead of us, Cleveland actually scares me the most in terms of taking Quinn.

Oakland will most-likely take Russell. If anything they take CJ and then pick up Culpepper/Green/Carr. Brady Quinn doesn't fit the Raider image/mentality, and he's not an Al Davis guy (aka SUPER overrated )

Detroit likes McCown, and Kitna is more than capable at QB, so they have 2 QBs, a veterent and a young guy, Quinn isn't a top need.

TB loves Calvin Johnson, and they don't need a QB anyway, they have Sims and Garcia and 37 other QBs on their roster.

The Cards have their franchise Qb in Matt Leinert so they aren't even an afterthought.

The 'Skins have Jason Campbell, who is a 1st rounder, so they don't need to invest ANOTHER 1st rounder in a QB.

The Vikings have Tavarius Jackson, whom they not only invested a 2nd-rounder but also traded up to get. He MAY not be the answer for them, but I can't see them spending a 1st rounder this year on a QB after spending that much last year, especially when Culpepper, Green, Carr are all on the market.

The Falcons have their franchise "QB" in Vick, so they don't need a QB.

The Browns however, they have me REALLY worried. For one, Crennell and Weis are good friends, so you know he has the most insider info on Quinn. They probably talk about him every single day. 2, they DO need a QB. RB may also be a a need, so Peterson IS an option, but they just signed Lewis so there is a temporary fix (and if he does good he could get a longer deal), and RB is MUCH easier to come by than QB. They could target Michael Bush in round 2 if they want a young RB, and still get Quinn in round 1. 3rd, Quinn is a "hometown hero". He grew up in Ohio, and was a Browns fan growing up (probably still is, it's just not wise to say that when 31 other teams could draft you). Drafting him would do for the browns what Vince Young WOULD have done for the Texans. Revive their fanbase and respark the interest and following, not to mention solve their QB problem.

All those reason are why they have me REALLY nervous and I would LOVE to move up to number 2 just to ease my mind, but I'm on the fence about what we'd have to give up and if I'm willing to invest that much in one guy. I also think if we move to #2 we take Quinn, not CJ. Yea, CJ is an amazing prospect, but we need a damn QB RIGHT NOW. No more signing late rounders or injured/washed up free agents. We need to invest in a damn young QB for the first time since Marino. Besides, Chambers is capable (as he has shown) if he just gets some routine and has one QB all year as opposed to QB musical chairs, and we just signed Az-Hakim (or however it goes), and we still have Booker who is adequate, plus Hagan, who has great potential. We could definately use another stud WR, but by no means is it a #2 overall pick priority.
