i heard on sportcenter that marino sat down and talked w/ ben rothlesburger about the superbowl and gave him advice, since he helped out another team w/ their QBs do you guys think marino would be a QB coach for us if we drafted a good prospect like Cutler Linehart or Young?

personally i think he is bitter with the dolphins organization for never getting him a good running game and chapionchip

For Marino to be a quarterbacks coach for us, or any team, would be huge.

But I think he likes the CBS Sports Studios in New York as his current occupation.

I think Marino has too much class to be bitter with out orginization. I think he would make a great QB coach for us. Unfortunately I don't see that happening any time soon.

I agree that would be huge for our team or any team.

I think he didnt like Wanstadt much but I doubt he is biter at the organization in general. Regardless I dont see him leaving the tv studio for the workload and peanuts pay of being a qb coach.

I think there is zero chance of that.

Would he do what he's doing for Ben with one of our guys? Sure, absolutely.

But to take on a demanding, long-hours, thankless job? No way, why would he? He doesn't need the money and it's not a glamourous position.

Consultant? Sure. Full-time coach? No way.

I feel the same way. He likes the CBS thing he's got going....with the exception of Boomer...what a tool that friggin guy is.

I knew we'd find something to agree on eventually!

Marino would be crazy to give up the cushy life of broadcasting and abandon all hopes of spending his time with family to become an NFL assitant coach.

Maybe when he's older and the kids have moved on, but you won't see him coaching anytime before that.

He would make far less money as a qb coach than what he is geting paid for the tv work. When he came back for a little and then retired it was estimated that he was making over 2 mill a year between his CBS, HBO, and commercial gigs. Now way he makes that much as a qb coach.

LOL Marino never wanted to run, also he is a Pittsburg native and liked the Steelers growing up, now he is in the business of interviewing, Rothlesburger and Marino getting together is a NObrainer.

what marino had cannot be taught.guys like garrett would be better as far as teaching them the mechanics etc. .what marino had was a gift that we will never see again and it cannot be taught.

Unfortunatley, what Marino had is not coachable. Could Marino make a good coach, sure about as good a chance as any player who ascends to the coaching ranks. Will Marino do it...no, he has not shone any inclination to join the NFL coaching ranks. He called Roethlisberger to congrat him and give him some advice on the mental aspects of being a young player going to his first SB with expectations that he'll be carrying the team on his shoulders, not Xs and Os advice... I doubt that we'll see Danny coaching ever....

Danny has stated several times throughout his carreer and most recently the year he retired that he has absolutely NO ambition to be an NFL coach or even a consultant....
I truly doubt that he has or will change his mind!

Wait.....
So because he told Ben Roethlisberger to enjoy the super bowl, Dan Marino should be a QB coach?
I don't think he has it in him to be a coach.

First of all it was a phone call. Second, he wasnt "helping another team". He was talking to Ben about being in a Superbowl at a young age, telling him to enjoy it because it might never come around again. Third, Marino will never be a coach. Fourth, he never wanted to run the ball, so why would he be bitter with Miami? Get a clue dude.
