Marino's Last Game: The Worst Final Game In Nfl History

I blame JJ for that debacle. I have no first hand knowledge, but I am pretty sure it happened like this. JJ was adamant that Dan call the plays that the staff had sent in. During the season , Dan had exercised more freedom calling audibles during the game. I believe when we got to that game, Jimmy put his foot down and told Marino that he was not to call an audible. At that point, JJ took the two greatest weapons out of the game - Dan's mind and instincts. I do not think Jimmy could stand the fact Dan was more popular with the public and the team than he was. I also think this was his way too show Dan I am right, so be a good little soldier and shut up. IMO, I think this move backfired, maybe not with Hurricane fans, but more objective ones. I loathe Jimmy for that game and he is the only one I blame for that travesty.

If i remember right, we played the last wild card game on a sunday afternoon in Seattle, then the 1st game on Saturday in Jax. That didn't help.

Still hurts yet today, almost as bad as the Monday night game vs jets.

That was a bad day. Started with breakfast and bloody marys at the house. Was at the bar by halftime, having upgraded to Jack on the rocks. Don't remember the afternoon game at all. I was on a bender that day, the likes I haven't been on since. Marino deserved better than to go out 62-7.....

Well, at least his last throw of his storied career was a TD - I believe he threw a nice ball to Gadsen as the first half expired or close.

Also, when Fred Taylor takes the opening handoff 80 yards for a TD that’s your defense. The team was not ready to play, was worn out and no one played well, coached well, or anything. They spent all they had left in the tank at Seattle the prior week.

I mean....
what do you even...
Uh...
Just damn.

Dan was on his last leg, literally.
