With the Packers delaying Favre's bonus again, I think its definitely leaning towards him retiring. I think Brett would have told them by now if he was coming back, so his team could better prepare for having him with them. I know I wouldn't come back, after the season they had. My point with this post I think dan's records are pretty much safe, even if he comes back. The only ones I think he could crack are completions and attempts. Even thought he's 25 tds from breaking Dan's mark, I don't think there's any way he could get it, especially w/o Walker on board. What do you all think?

I too think Favre will retire. That team is in such disarray.
No way he wants to duplicate last year.:dolphins:

Im from WIS, so i have alittle advantage on info on this subject. Not to mention Favre is my second favorite QB of all time behind Dan the Man. But Favre is delaying his bonus not the Packers. He is helping them out because he doesnt want to take the bonus and decide to retire. Favre is wait to see what the Packers do in FA/Draft even tho he says that has no bareing on his decision it does. But the Packers are in great shape almost 20mill under the cap and have yet to sign a big free agent. My gut tells me Favre is done, and most Packer fans agree. Ill tell you what every year in GB people say the Packers are going to the SB, not this year everyone is upset the Pack havent been active in FA, its really weird to see ppl up here act this way. One of my best freinds who is a die hard Packer fan thinks the Fins are gunna be good this year!! And its very rare to hear that up here in Packer country. Sorry I keep rambling. But alot of ppl are glad Culpepper is out of the Packers divison he has beat up on them plenty of times. And I think its fair to say Dans records are pretty safe. If Favre comes back he will have to have a great season to pass Dans TD record, and with Javon wanting out id say hes done.

Keyshawn is gone to Carolina. If Brett comes back for another year he is completely going against his statements that if he thought the Packers didnt have a shot at the Super Bowl that he would retire...he wasnt in it for the records etc...

The only shot they have this year is to be bottom 5 again. There hasnt been any improvement in FA, and their best receiver wants out due to the issues they had in the media last year.

I think Brett WANTS to come back for one last hurrah, but why bother if your team has NO SHOT? I think he was hoping the new GM of the Pack would load up for one last Super Bowl run with Brett.

Clearly, as quiet as the Packer FO has been with free agency, they are looking to the future, which means Aaron Rodgers starting. McCarthy the new coach won't say it, but I think he wants Brett gone so he can rebuild the team as he sees fit.

Anyway, as far as the Marino records? I don't think Brett could get 25 TD passes even if he came back for 2006. The Packer OL is in shambles, they need a Center and at least one new Guard. They need another CB and a LB on defense. Javon Walker the best WR they have wants out badly.

Looking to the future, I think Peyton will get most of records Dan set, but he'll need to avoid injury to do it, so time will tell.

Yeah good point it doesnt matter if Favre breaks Dans records because, unfortunatley Peyton is going to crush them all. But hey records are made to be broken. When you look at it Dan was the first guy to really put up huge numbers, and we should just look at Peyton as the begining of a new era.
