When you are the first player in the history of your school to get drafted – in the 7th round by the Dolphins – it’s easy to understand why there is so much interest. But for those who know defensive lineman Terrence Fede, for those who have seen how hard he worked to get where is today, the excitement and the satisfaction is simply off the charts.

Take the Marist coaching staff for example. There is a television set up in the staff lounge. On Sunday afternoons, they are often hovered around that television, waiting for their prize pupil to get into the game, maybe even to do something special, maybe even to get his first sack.

“I was sitting my office on a Sunday and I heard a big holler coming from that room,” said Parady. “My assistants came running down the hall, shouting that Terrence had gotten his first sack. I couldn’t have watched that replay enough times.”

Little insight about our final draft pick and what he means to Marist

Not to turn it into a Hickey thread, but it shows you how thorough this guy and his department is in looking for gems, no stone left unturned.

Cool story. I listened to Fede's interview after he got drafted and he's an earnest and well-spoken guy. Cant wait to see more.

Good story, I hope Fede continues to develop and can help our deep pass rush, and help the inevitable loss of Wake one day

But he is still not better than Michael Sam though (sarcasm).
