Don't know if he can hold off the "pretty boy" QB's..Tebow or McCoy,
but I'm hoping.
It would be nice for Bama to finally have a Heisman.

He has my vote right now....I haven't seen someone take over a game and be the best player on the field more consistently than him.

I felt like he was the front-runner a couple of weeks ago but now...I don't know. You can easily make a case for Mark Ingram but this is one of the most wide open races I've ever seen this late in a season. I'm still gonna stick with my preseason pick, Colt McCoy. He's in the discussion at least. I think Texas is "clicking" at the perfect time and he has been playing well.

It's hard to believe that in Alabama's storied history with their titles, legendary coaches, fan support, stadium, etc., that they've never had a Heisman winner. Ingram could change all of that. As long as Kim Shebow doesn't win it again.

:foundout:

Kim Shebow? Ah, the silly name calling. Unless Tim Tebow puts the team on his back, has an amazing game, and leads the team to victory late against Bama, I don't think he deserves it this year.

This is a tough year though. Not really any standout guys. Colt McCoy is having an eh-year as well. They haven't really had much competition this year and he's not putting up those crazy Big12 numbers like last year.

Does Bama win all their game this year without Ingram? Hard to say. But it isn't too hard to see that he is the most productive player out of the best 3 teams in the country this year.

i think it would be great...but i would rather have another NC than a Heisman...both would be sweet though!!

I don't think anyone is a front-runner right now.... no one has really dominated like the past couple of season winners.

Any of last year's finalist would win over anyone this year.

Most Heismen polls have Ingram as the front runner.

I like either Colt McCoy or Stanford's Toby Gerhart.

Colt's numbers are down even against those Big12 defenses.
I like Toby, but again look at the defenses he runs against compared to
Ingram.Please don't say USC either.
Also look at yds per carry between Toby and Mark.

These Clemson fans are propping up CJ Spiller big time. And the Alabama - Clemson fans over on the Mainboard have been at each others throats for weeks now about the best back in the country lol.

I never let homerism infiltrate any observations I make about either Bama or the Phins....I prefer to call it how I see it.....a spade is a spade in my book...

And Mark Ingram is the Ace of Spades....I know what this guy does every week against formidable defenses...

He would have my vote as of now.....but I have a feeling that a lot of the voters are going to feel like McCoy should've won it last year....and that he deserves the Heisman more as a career achievement....and honestly I'd have no problem with that if he can pick his numbers up a little in the last part of the season...

Tebow's passing stats aren't even as good as Greg McElroy's....

Toby is strong candidate IMO....but as Namor pointed out....those pattycake defenses he faces also have to be taken into consideration....and USC's is probably the most pattycake of them all believe it or not....that is one atrocious defense week in and week out...

Keenum is a gimmick quarterback in a gimmick system that is the poster child of what a joke the Heisman has become in over the last 20 years or so......

C.J. Spiller is most deserving of an invitation to New York IMO......that kid is as spectacular of an offensive player as there is in the nation...

Face it...Ingram is only a sophomore and they don't like giving the Heisman to sophomore's unless they just don't have a choice....and they may not have one by the time it's over with...

Ingram, hands down. Ingram, game in and game out, has faced IMO the toughest schedule in football this year (and Bama should be #1 but they'll prove that Dec.5) and has been by far the most consistent player. For as heralded as QB's are, no one has stepped up to be noticed as the dominant player at that position this year. McCoy doesn't deserve it just because of his career accolades and don't even get me started as to whether Teblow is worthy or NOT. After Ingram I'd have to go with Spiller but he's a very distant second to Ingram IMO.

ingram has my vote so far. no way tebow gets - or deserves - another heisman this year.

INGRAM:
1200 yards rushing, 10TDs rushing
200 yards receiving, 3 TDs receiving

TEBOW:
650 yards rushing, 10TDs rushing
1700 yards passing, 12TDs passing

MCCOY:
160 yards rushing, 1 TD rushing
2600 yards passing, 19 TD passing

GERHART
1400 yards rushing, 19TD rushing

They all look pretty damn even to me, EVEN TEBOW! Everyone is talking Tebow down because of what he's done in the past and who he is. ANY other QB in a BCS conference puts those numbers up and they'd be a Heisman front-runner this season.

Factor in that he was concussed. Add the fact that he has to take over games sometimes for his team to win.....

I am not saying Tebow should win, I think its a race without any run-away favorites, but I think its ridiculous that Tebow is the auto-last choice from all the front-runners this year.

If McCoy doesn't improve by the end of the season (he hasn't played single good defense), I say the trophy goes to whoever wins the SEC Championship (as long as the performances are on par with each other). Of course, they could both have horrible games... then never mind. The way it looks to me though, either Tebow or Ingram is going to carry that game on his shoulders, let the one that can carry farther win.

We'll see the truth when the two best players in the SEC are matched up against the two best defenses in the SEC.
