Mark Ingram

U guys crack me up with this Mark Ingram hate. Have you watched this kid play football? Dude is a stocky 5'10" with hella strong legs. His vision is up there with some of the great RB's to ever enter the draft. He can catch the ball out of the backfield, he can hold up in pass protection and he runs a 4.4. He actually is the prototype RB you could want for this offense. So what he won't put up a 4.24 like Chris Johnson and who cares if there are a bunch of 3rd round picks that are doing well in the NFL . . . Mark Ingram has all the tools right now, he has the NFL pedigree . . . I mean he is Ronnie Brown with vision, and Ronnie was a damn good back he just didn't have the vision to consistently find the right hole and make bigger runs. When Ingram gets downhill, it's a wrap. Hell it's not like we don't need another RB also . . . you want speed, you draft Ingram with the first pick, and get Demarco Murray in round 4. That is how you add some explosiveness to the offense.

He is gonna be Emmitt Smith part 2, bet that.

man...you were doing so well and then at the very end you threw out the name demarco murray and lost all momentum...lol

Dude has gotta stay healthy, but I think he has the size and speed to do damage as a change of pace guy in the NFL. But it all depends who is available. I don't think Shane Vereen will be there in round 3, definitely not round 4 . . . Murray should be there. Jacquizz Rodgers is interesting also, but he doesn't have the speed I would want in a change of pace guy (combine will confirm his mythical 40 time).

I think an Ingram/Murray combo would be sick . . . but that change of pace guy could be filled by a number of guys.

Hooshoops - Bro.. I'm glad we agree on something in regards to this years draft hahaha. You and I had epic debates about prospects last year. We're on the same page with Mark Ingram. I like the kid a lot. I was just talkin draft with some friends yesterday sayin Ingram is my pick at 15.

Kdawg - I'd rather a Mark Ingram/Noel Devine combo. Now that would be a great combo IMO. When Murray was a freshman though, I thought he was going to be the next big thing when he came out. Injuries slowed him up too much and doesn't seem like quite the same player.

"1000" lol...mark ingram would run for more than 1000 behind our crappy *** oline as it is...shore up the interior oline some and mark ingrams going for 1500 all purpose yards and double digit tds every year...

this is not a bust pick by any means if it shakes out ingrams a dolphin

Michael Bush could also put up similar numbers and not cost us a 1st rd pick. Bush is not the talent Ingram is, but I'd rather use our 1st in an attempt to get a QB and sign Bush than use it on Ingram.

Ingram is not a HOF talent IMHO, and that's what I feel you need to think a guy is to take him in the first.

The history of RB's shows us that it's not that hard to find a solid one.

he lost me at Emmitt Smith Part 2

it's a bit early to compare him with the ALL TIME leading rusher in NFL history...

I believe he was talking about his running style and who he runs like. I don't believe he was saying he is going to have Emmitt's NFL statistics. Emmitt's running style is a great comparison to Ingram's. Strong, compact, great vision, hard worker, can get the tough yards, and fast enough to run away from people. Seeing Ingram rock the #22 doesn't hurt either.

PhinsTD - I don't believe GMs are expecting HoFers out of their 1st round pick. I would guess most are hoping for a solid starter that turns into a pro bowler. HoFer would be icing.

The top three quarterbacks right now are all questionable in my opinion. I just think it’s a bad year for quarterbacks so you’re comparing guys that aren’t that great to start with. Andy Dalton is right there with any of them and might end up being the best of all of them and he can be had in round three or four. Don’t think we are desperate to make chicken primavera when the grocery store has nothing but chicken $hit. Let the other teams make that mistake this year. I'm on the Ingram bandwagon.

Ingram all the way for me, someone referenced his stats earlier Ingram didn't have to rush for 100 with Richardson back there with him

Mark Ingram is a playmaker and would fit nicely on a team devoid of playmakers. There is no option for a QB at this spot and with Sparano coaching for his job, he's not taking a QB. The alternative is an athletic TE but I don't see on until later rounds. There is little doubt in my mind that they will draft Ingram and shore up the OL in FA. Also, don't forget Nate Garner will be back and that helps that interior.

meh...michael bush is run of the mill...just like mike tolbert is run of the mill...

We went back and forth about Rolondo McClain last year. I didn't like him in the top 10 and you did. You obviously were right about the draft position, jury is obviously still out on him. That was the main one. I think Golden tate was another one.
