It was about time. Leiter is a good person, but he just couldn't perform this season for us. I think he will end up pitching for another team. I thank Leiter for the hard work he put into playing for us, but unfortunately it just didn't work out.

Leiter always seemed to beat my Phillies.

I debate the good person comment. His last few years in NY Leiter was pretty sleezy

Why don't you back that up? From everything I've heard as a Marlins fan, watching Al pretty closely from 1996 to now, I haven't heard one bad word about him. Part of his salary demands this year was that we pay him a million to put in his charity, Leiter's Landing. He's always been a large figure in this community. I couldn't disagree with you more.

I live in NY and haven't heard anything bad about Leiter, honestly. If I am the Yankees, as a quick relief, I pick up Leiter. He can't be worse then Redding and May!

Leiter is responsible for Art Howe and Bobby V getting fired. He and Franco played a ton of lockeroom games. He forced the Mets to trade Kazmir (their best pitching prospect) because he badmouthed the kid a ton. When in reality he was affraid Kazmir was going to get called up and possibly take his spot.

Al's last few years in Ny were not pretty

I have never heard such a thing. I got a ton of die-hard Mets fans, I'll ask them, they'll know better then me!

And how do you know this? You still haven't backed it up, you've just made more specific allegations. The thing with Kazmir is stupid because in that deal the Mets acquired a starter, yet Al still stayed in the rotation. That doesn't make any sense.

It was on WFAN, written about in the NY papers, all over the place for the past few years.

The thing with Kazmir isn't stupid. Zambrano is a journeymen type of guy who was coming in to be in the rotation. Kazmir was the young gun who had the potential to be the ace and #1 guy in the rotation and take Al's spotlight. Al didn't like Kazmire, went to management with lies about him like he didn't care, the other players didn't like him, he was trouble. Management listened and got rid of him. Funny that a few months later, Al and the management that made that move were all FIRED and replaced by Omar and Willy.

Leiter looked pretty good in his first start for the Yanks, but I dont see the Yanks going anywhere with theiir pitching.
