Marshall Faulk gave his top ten QB's on the NFL Network Total Access yesterday.

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady head the list, he also had Trent Green at number 10. I can't find his list right off hand, but Marc Bulger I believe was #4, Chad Pennington was #9, Matt Hasselbeck #3.

A person that is an elite QB never says to others he's one.... He just knows it and let his play talk for him. Person's who say their elite are usually not. Do you ever hear Brady or Manning say their elite....No!!! You ever hear T. Green say he's elite? No!!! You ever hear Culpepper say he's elite... Yes!!!.... That say's alot.....

Your logic is erroneous.

All of the aforementioned QBs have been MVP candidates and been to the Pro Bowl on multiple occasions. It is possible for one to recognize one's strengths and not be arrogant.

I always wanted to attack this quote in phins sig.. lets rip it shall we,.

Was Culpepper ever Mobile? Dan Marino was sacked 270 times in 17 years. Culpepper sacked 249 times in 7 years, you do the math.

Getting sacked = not mobile? no not really however, culpepper rushing for more yards in his first nfl game ever over marinos career rushing yards.. does signify mobility.

I win

OOOOH, OOOOOOOH whatcha win, huh, whatcha win?!?!?!? The suspense is killing me? Your mom pat you on the back? Ooh cool!

The fact that you dont get what he was saying means you lose.

Yeah Culpepper can run, and while I am not saying I agree totally with him what he is saying is that Daunte holds the ball too long and gets sacked too many times. Daunte has the ability to escape pressure can use his legs, and is strong, so for the amount of sacks he has taken, it is shows that the time it takes him to identify where he wants to go with the ball and get it there is too long. I am not saying I totally agree, just that is what the point is.

I believe it isnt that Daunte cant get rid of it sooner, rather he relys on his strength and mobility to get him out of sacks and make the big play. That is what Daunte does best make big plays, with that comes a higher sack rate because you hold the ball longer.

If you have NFL network, look for their top 10 most mobile QBs of all time. Marino is number 7. It will illistrate why you do not, in fact, win.

These two things (holding the ball too long and getting sacked) are not mutually exclusive. Mobile QBs often run into sacks by trying to get outside the pocket when all they had to do was step up into the pocket and let the defender run past them or by keeping the offensive lineman between him and the defender.

I agree and add in the fact that he never likes to give up on a play sometimes gets him into trouble.

I'm not sure how they came up with their rankings but here it is for those who wants to know.

01) Fran Tarkenton
02) Steve Young
03) Randall Cunningham
04) Michael Vick
05) Bobby Douglass
06) Roger Staubach
07) Dan Marino
08) Jim Zorn
09) Doug Flutie
10) Donovan McNabb

You think Green is higher than 10? off his '06 season and at hs age?

Age has nothing to do with it, if the guy can still play. Those rankings are based on what the player has done recently, NOT on what he may do in the future.
TG was coming off a viscious concussion last season, so I wouldn't put much stock into his 2006 stats. In fact, if Pennington had taken that hit, I don't think he'd ever play again.
IMO, TG is a better QB than Pennington. Chad is accurate and smart (as is Green), but has a below average NFL arm and is more injury prone than TG. It wasn't to long ago when people were questioning if Pennington would ever play again.
I don't even know why you bothered to make your post. I have an issue with Pennington being ranked as high as he is and you invite the comparison just by being a Jets fan and coming to this site.
You hope TG is washed up because the Phins roster is slowly taking shape. The offense is going to be multi-dimensional and will be formidable if there is a solid QB behind center. I wouldn't trade the talent on the Phins for the talent on the Jets or Bills.

I think Faulk is accurate with ranking Trent Green number ten.

There are a number of established veterans that I would take ahead of Green: Manning, Brady, Palmer, McNabb, Bulger, Brees, Rivers, possibly Pennington.

There are a couple young players who have a ton of potential that I would rather have over Green: Leinart, Cutler, Young, Romo, Losman (Possibly Russell, Quinn too).

If you are going by 'win now', then Trent Green is probably around the 8-10th guy you would select. If you pick based on their talent + potential, Green would just barely be in the top half of starting QB's IMO.

The fact that Culpepper took as many sacks in 7 years as Marino did in 17 kind of proves that you are right, Marino was more mobile than Culpepper.

Culpepper says: "When I'm healthy, I'm an elite quarterback in this league".

I guess he's never been healthy because he's had only one winning season in 7 years, during which time he had 83 fumbles, 89 INT's, and 249 sacks. That's not elite by any measure. Culpepper should be in a 7-Up commercial, never had it, never will.
