http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/articles/2007/06/dolphins-davidmartin-couldflourish180607.html During Green's six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs , Chiefs All-Pro TE Tony Gonzalez racked up 460 receptions, 5,669 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns. It's hard to argue that those aren't the best numbers posted by any NFL tight end during that span.

During Cameron's last four seasons as the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers , Antonio Gates emerged and quickly became the best Chargers TE since Kellen Winslow Sr. His numbers during that four-year period -- 265 receptions, 3,378 receiving yards and 34 TDs -- rival Gonzalez's

He has to stay healthly a whole season before he can flourish anywhere so we shall see!

desperate times, take desperate measures... Thats why I love this time of year were all sure were going to the Big Show... We all need to lower of expectations HONESTLY as fan's quietly dream about them, and when we surpass them we will be happy..

Lets stop the everyone is a pro-bowler hype and wishes...

My fingers are crossed...

I sure hope he does well, we need all the offensive help we can get.

Yeah, easy on the Gonzales/Gates comparasons. Lets see the guy stay healthy for a whole year and hope he is just solid at the position.

About the KC offense, I'm sure their amazing o-line had something to do with the success.

My only concern with Martin is his blocking skills. With our o-line problems, a Tight End that can block well is a huge plus. I think when healthy he can definately be a good pass catching tight end. Just curious if he can block. Believe it or not, McMichael is/was a great blocking tight end and it kinda went unnoticed...

that goes for that fraud larry johnson too.

Guy put up back to back 1700 yard seasons and he is a fraud lol.
How many backs have done that?

Also on the martin thing , the only thing Martin has in Common with Gonzo and Gates is they play the same position. beleive me if martin were all that good somebody else would have noticed especially Green Bay because they are not that happy with franks anymore.

Nah, just like everything else McMicheal was inconsistent and didn't give 100% on every down.

Martin has an injury history that Gonzo and Gates doesn't. Who knows how Green Bay felt about him, given that he could rarely see the field. Our hope isn't that he's the next Gates, it's that he can stay healthy enough to get on the field.

I guess if martin puts up big numbers, its clear the qb and coach is a direct influence on the TE's #'s

If he bombs, looks like it could be martin himself to blame.

I hope their success with their past TE's help martin flourish, not banking on it but it would be nice.
