With Mike Martz heading to Detroit, does anyone think that this will improve Miami's chances of landing Jay Cutler? I believe that Martz will view Harrington as an intriguing project and they may look in another direction in April's draft. Any thoughts?

I agree, and also Millien does not want to start over, he is close to getting fired. Starting over for him would be a bad idea. I bet Arizona lands Cutler at 10 but no way he goes to detroit.

I really don't know much about Harrington, whats his arm strength?? I know Martz loves the deep out and In patterns, If you don't have a strong arm in Martz's system you won't fit.

harrington has a strong arm. it's a pretty simple offense, he should be able to learn it and operate it to success. that being said, they could still take cutler. martz likes molding late-round quarterbacks, but he has no say in who is drafted, so it's moot.

I don't think Cutler gets to us, I never thought the Lions would take a QB anyway.

I didn't think so either but Mel Kuiper had Detroit taking Cutler at #9 in his latest mock...I know its early and a lot will happen before the draft but if any teams solve there QB issues ahead of Miami, then that is a good thing! AZ, BAL, the Jets...all could easily go QB ahead of us.

They have the kid from Ucon they drafted last year also, starts with an O but can't think of it at the moment. He is a good prospect also.

This is something I was thinking about. I agree this may be very true. Martz has a very big ego and has brought along some good QB's. Hopefully he has enough sway to convince the rest of the coaching staff that he can do so.

Yep, Martz' arogance alone will make him think he can turn Harrington into the QB that noone else has been able to. I hate to say it, but he probably is right. Harrington has a lot more talent that Bulger and Bulger has spurts where he looked excellent.
