I don't think it makes sense to trade Moore since Tannehill would be left without a vet for guidance and Pat Devlin is then the backup? Unless the team plans on keeping David Garrard when he returns from rehab. What could we get from Denver?
Another rumor recently was that Broncos QB Brock Osweiler was the #2 quarterback in Denver. If this is true then QB Caleb Hanie must not be very good considering the Broncos are choosing Osweiler over Hanie. I’m not saying Osweiler doesn’t have potential, but he is a rookie and the Broncos need a dependable veteran backing up Peyton Manning. If the Moore rumor is true and the Dolphins are shopping him, then yes, I hope the Broncos do go after Moore if it is possible. Moore would boost the competition in Denver and I feel he would give the Broncos a better chance of winning if Manning was to go down with an injury.
Moore has played in 35 games in the NFL as a QB. He started 13 games for the Dolphins last season and threw for 2,500 yards, 16 tocuhdowns, and 9 picks. He also recorded a respectable 87.1% QB rating and a 60.5 completion percentage. If he would have had the opportunity to play the full 16 games as the starter he may have thrown for 3,000+ yards and 20+ touchdowns.
If Manning did get injured and someone else had to step in and lead a playoff-caliber team you wouldn’t want that guy to be Osweiler, who is a rookie. If Hanie has already lost the No. 2 spot to Osweiler then the Broncos need to do all that they can in order to get Moore to join them.
