He deserves a shot and he's getting it.  He'll have a chance to show the new coaching staff what he can do.

He is saying all the right things, but talk is cheap.

He is a marginal player who needs to improve a lot or else he will be entering free agency with nothing to hang his hat on after this year

Why would u even say "talk is cheap" about what he said....the guy knows how the nfl works and all he said is he's happy he's gonna have a fair shot to prove himself

From what i saw of him last year,he certainly deserves to be in the mix.

WHAT IS IT with some of you people?? Talk is cheap?? What about play?? Look people I want a first round QB, and hope we take Tannehill even though I don't think he is first round talent. I want to upgrade the positions just like everyone else does. But lets get real. Matt Moore is NOT a BAD QB. He has been in the league 5 years and missed one of those years completely. He is still very raw, yet all he has done is tookover a 0-5 football team and won 6 out of the 11 remaining games. He did this behind one of the worst OLs in recent memory, with a horrible coaching staff, throwing to basically one STARTING WR of whom happen to lead the league in drops. He did this while posting a QB rating of nearly 88. That happens to be better than Dan Marino posted for his entire career, throwing to some of the best WRs around.

Now before some of the morons jump off the deep end, NO I am not comparing him to Marino. What I am saying is it takes 11 men on offense, combined with a great coaching staff that knows how to attack a defense. I happen to think that jus maybe we have that NOW. But there still needs to be 10 other players who have a clue. I am NOT even saying that Matt Moore is the long term answer at the position, although I will say he may be as good as anyone we had since Marino, INCLUDING Pennington. But either way, he IS a dolphin, and we should be pulling for him to be the best he can be. One thing is for absolute sure, NO QB is going to put up big numbers in the offense that we are going to field THIS year. Without a WR, no go to TE, a rebuilt OL and a new OC we are going to be some where between bad and terrible. That isn't because Matt Moores sucks, it's because Matt Moore can't play 11 positions.

Matt was rated the 12th best QB in 2011 in one of the worse situations imaginable. Better than ALL the QBs that everyone(including me) wanted the FO to bring in last year. He was better than Orton, Carson Palmer, Vince Young and a heck of a lot better than Henne. He is more atheletic than Henne or Penny, a better arm than Penny, better understanding of the game than Henne, and more heart than any dolphin QB since Fielder. All he did was come in to a TERRIBLE situation, and lay his all on the line, to bring this team all the wins he could muster. And for all his efforts all he gets is a "well talk is cheap", REALLY?? You would think he was the enemy the way he is treated. It's not like he is the de'bil or Mark Sanchez, he's a dolphin for Pete's sake. If you are so filled with hate towards a dolphin QB giving his all maybe you would be better suited jumping on the Sanchez bandwagon, last I heard there was plenty of room.

I'd thank you but the button is gone again.  My sentiments exactly.
