Matt Roth Coming On!

Thanks....:D That was a great read on Roth. Watch out for him next year when he is a starter.

Everybodys starting to second guess whether the Surtain trade was bad or not. Our team is not what it seems ever. first we think we are a SB team then we think we'll get a top 10 pick in the draft then back to the playoffs. Can any body predict this team ever.

watched him play at iowa a few times....He really beat up the Badgers a few times...I knew as soon as we picked him that he would eventually be a real difference maker...WHEN he gets his oppurtunity to be a full time starter i think he will be alot like trace armstrong, but believe he is quicker...He could be a real stud in this league...

He's definitely made the most of his opportunities...let's hope that he keeps progressing.

i dont think matt roth will ever be a probowler, but at the same time he fits a key role that you need in the nfl now. an inexpensive player that is not a liability and can make a big play for you from time to time.

I'd like to touch on that, I think he has the potential to be a pro bowler. Look at another former Iowa d-end Aaron Kampman with Green Bay. Took a few years to work his way as a starter, and this year is dominating the sack department. I hope people are as excited about Roth as I am.

I do see him potentially becoming sort of an Aaron Schobel/Aaron Kampman type. Kyle Vanden Bosch is very similar in that his main move is the bull rush.

If he beefs up a little more he might kind of follow track with someone like Ty Warren.

I'm not totally convinced that he's found some new tricks to the trade when it comes to pass rush. He's a motor guy. Motor guys don't have 15 sack seasons unless they're physically gifted like JT (who is and has always been a motor guy, btw).

I see mostly 5 to 8 sack seasons in Roth's future...but a very good run stuffer.

Matt goes all out when he is out there and he is forcing turnovers and making big plays. Keep up the great work.

CK, with the possible aquisition of Adalius Thomas in the offseason (if the Ravens are stupid enough to let him go), how much better does our line get? I have no clue on how to predict the impact of a guy who can play anywhere. Would Roth see a jump in pass rush production due to Thomas' ability to cover and completely destroy routes?

I agree with the Schobel comparison... he and Roth arent the biggest or most gifted guys in the world but they have a motor that doesnt quit. I see Roth as the one who will play with a mean streak and out hustle anyone on the field.

He was shedding blocks with great moves on every play, even ones where he didn't wind up with putting up stats. I loved the pick when we got him, and I think we'll all love it even more once he gets more playing time.

Matt Roth and Yeremiah Bell are NFL SUPERSTARS in the making. Crowder can be too. The young guys on our D are looking tough.
