Watched him tonight in the Browns/Steelers game, and he looked healthy & productive. I know there was something more going on behind the scenes while he was down here, but does anyone have any information or idea about what was really going on between him & the coaches/management? He was a force for us last year, and with our obvious holes at the LB positions right now, why the hell would we let him go? Just makes absolutely no sense IMO.. :err:

Dear god. When a player is on this team, all we see are threads wanting them gone. Once they're gone...

I think it's a good question. I was very surprised he when he was released.

He had the phantom groin injury that kept him off the field for the whole year. Thats why we let him go.

Roth is more of a 4 3 LB when not at DE..He has awful coverage skills..
Take into consideration his pay, strengths, and other players on the team who make far less including JasonTaylor/Wake/Merling/Torbor who can do better Job or more versitile..

I think he got some bad advice from his agent oh how to get money, also I think the Taylor signing really effected his situation. But, we all know Wake was what the FO was looking at for the future anyways.

There are a handful of people who know the real reason, BP and Co. and Roth are the main people.

Something smells rotten in Denmark!

Want my opinion (rhetorical), it was to set an example. Same thing happened to Seymour in NE. You either fit the system and mentality or you fit somewhere else.

If an average player goes to a ****ty team and then becomes a good player, does that say more about the player or the team they are now on?

In general you are right, but it seems like their whole defense has caught on fire since they brought Roth in.

If Drew wasn't his agent, IMO there's a good possibility he'd be playing for us right now.
