Don Banks:

2. I can think of at least 10 teams right now that would love to have Atlanta's Matt Schaub as their starting quarterback. Look for the Falcons to auction him off to the highest bidder in the offseason.

Hasselback looks like a bargain now. One first round pick will not get Schaub

Thats all we need is another backup qb who looked good for another team when he came in. Remember a similar situation that involved a guy named AJ Feeley.....remember that guy?

A first round pick is a lot to give up for a guy who has only had 1 good regular season game. It looks like the AJ situation to me.

Although i like Schaub...your right..no more recycled QB's please!

The chargers have spent 2 firsts and a 2nd on QB's while we spent 1 first and a third looking for a 3rd CB

I know we won't get in this bidding war, I just wish we would show some interest in filling the most important position

Feeley was a Reid/Childress creation, it was like trading for a Bronco RB

Schaub is mastering the WCO and making Vick look like a scrub

Schaub is a system qb, a team that runs a west-coast offence like atlanta will want him, linehan wont be interested in him and we would make a run at him.

I was planning to cite to Scott Mitchell, personally.

Rivers is much more proven than Schaub

so Joe Montana was a system QB?

lol

Getting Rivers would probably cost as much as it would to get a high pick in the draft. Thats a high price to pay for a qb who has not played a full game in over 2 years, and has not proven anything in the nfl.

you're right, it is very tempting to like a guy who shows alot in the big leagues

but it is still less risky than selecting a college QB high

people are so sure of Leinhart and yet these are the same scouts who passed over Tom Brady repeatedly

Why is it less risky? Atlanta has a great defense, great running game and a good O-line. They are superbowl contenders and Schaub sucked as soon as he got in with the 1sts last year, he has only had 1 good game. Feeley at least led the Eagles to the playoffs with 4 out of 5 wins, Atlanta didn't even win with Schaub at QB.

Making Vick look like a scrub? Where have you heard this? I live in Atlanta and trust me Schaub is in no way taking over for Vick. Schaub had 1 decent game against a depleted secondary.
