According to Prosportsdaily the Atlanta Falcons are willing to trade Shaub for a 2nd round pick.Im kinda interested in this.

If this were somehow true, it would take me 2 seconds to trade my 2nd rounder for Schaub. Unfortunately, I think the Falcons will ask for more compensation.

please dont trade for another qb dont give any picks away for garrard, shaub, carr or whoever we dont need one when there 4-5 young qbs coming out this year ! im so sick on this crap we better not trade or im finsh with this team ...we waste picks on bums they is why we cant get younger....

I would love to get Schuab. The couple of games he played for Vick when he was injured he did a good job. Here was his line in his only start last against NE:

18-34 298yds 3TDs OINTs

A second round pick would be a good deal for this kid.

I'd rather sign McCown considering it wouldn't take any picks whatsoever.

what happened with feely. no need to trade a 2nd when u can get croyle

Well How bout NOOOO! Fed up of other back ups we need new blood!! Schaub can Rott in Atlanta

Last time I remember Delhomme, Favre, Hasselbeck, Green, Brunnel were all back-up or second string and in some cases third string quarterbacks on other temas before being traded for or picked up in free agency. Just because a quarterback is second string (Tom Brady) doesnt mean they cant play, they are just waiting on their chance to shine. So dont knock someone just because he is playing behind someone else. Schaub had a pretty impressive college career, much better than Cutler actually, and has proven he can win games in the NFL. Atlanta is looking for a second round pick and if the Fins were looking to draft a young quarterback in the second round, why not take one that has already proven he can play at this level.

So you'd rather draft the next AJ Feeley ourselves rather than trade for him? Is there a difference? I don't see why you guys are still so big on this years QB class as other than the big 3 (neither of which it looks like we can get), I can't see many of the others being all that good. If we can get Schaub for a 2nd rounder, I'd jump all over that. Feeley never showed the promise that Schaub does.

Everyone is gun shy about a trade of a pick for a QB. That's understandable.

But, there are two big differences here:

1) We don't have Rick Spielman in the front office. He's been replaced by a very solid Randy Meuller and Nick Saban has better instincts than Wanny.

2) Schaub is bigger and stronger than Feeley; with a much better college pedigree; and, he showed better ability in the games he played than Feeley did.

Don't you think that with Randy, Saban, and Mularsky as our talent evaluators we have a much better chance of landing (via FA, trade, or draft) somebody who they feel will upgrade our current Qb position?
I, for one, have a lot more confidence in this coaching staff as far as evaluating what is available, and having them make the right decision for our team.
If they think that trading our 2nd for Shaub, or bringing in McCown as a FA is the way to go, then you know what....I will back up their decission. Saban and company seem to be able to judge talent pretty well So, just because of our previous coaching staff past failures, don't misjudge our new coaching staff and their ability to find a way to upgrade our team.

my only question with schaub is does he fit our system (more downfield passing, less west coast stuff which i've heard he excels at). if he can fit, then i think a second round pick for him is a great deal. he's already had time to get acclimatized to life in the nfl, and he's clearly not going to start ahead of vick. he's had good results in the limited time he's played. how could you not make that deal? why would you rather draft croyle, wait on him for a year or two or more, when croyle is definitely not more talented than schaub? at best (for croyle), they're the same player - schaub could step in almost immediately.
