May 22nd OTA updates

I'm sure that if any reporter went into any detail at all, he would be bounced and his relationship with the new coaches would be screwed.

Clemons suffered what a lot of NFL players suffered from last season coming back from the lockout...the dreaded hamstring injury.

I think we had at least 5 players that started the season with hamstring injuries last season.

I think we had at least 5 players that started the season with hamstring injuries last season.

Almost all of them suffered theirs the first two or three days of training camp. Charles Clay, Chris Clemons, Vontae Davis and Daniel Thomas are the first ones that comes to mind.

Its weird that we may actually have a HC that atleast earlier on looks like he has a plan and knows exactly what he's looking for. Really weird!

Also speaking of R.Bush in the slot position, How many times did he murder the coverage on Wheel Routes last season? Hard to believe the coaching staff didn't take more advantage of his speed in the open especially against LBs. Its not hard to envision He and Miller on the field at the same time? Both split-out? One split out?

One thing that stood out last season that Henne could not connect of those routes and Moore could. YOu have to lost the ball over the LB. Those routes work best when the running back is coming out of the backfield. If the RB is split out, a DB will take him in coverage.

I'd much rather the media tell us who is working where on the Dolphins' NICKEL packages than I am the base 4-3 package, which was highly predictable.

Ooooh, Jared Odrick is working at LEFT END in the base package? Never saw THAT one coming. Wow, Kevin Burnett is playing WILL backer? Reeeally? Sooo interesting.

I mean, come on. We knew what this base 4-3 was going to look like even before the Draft, depending on who they drafted. The only changes would have come if they'd taken a starting D-End type or a true Mike. That didn't happen, so that made Odrick-Starks-Soliai-Wake, Misi-Dansby-Burnett a virtual certainty.

What I want to know on the nickel/dime work is whether they're just going with the standard look of Vernon-Odrick-Starks-Wake, with Burnett-Dansby and Richard Marshall as the NCB, or if they're tinkering around with different nickel/dime packages, which is what I would do. I would consider having Vernon rush over a guard instead of a tackle. His athletic ability would be more use there. I would also consider tinkering around with the back end to see if I couldn't get Richard Marshall into more of a safety type role.

its the first day of ota's you have to get the base down first man. i am a coach and first days you dont really get out of base packages too much
