How about we look at Adam Archuleta... i know we signed alot of safeties but we might be able to get him cheap?? dont pounce on me for this im just looking for opinions... the bears released him today.

Archuleta has not been the same player since he left St Louis. Adam excelled in the Rams Cover 2 defense but did not have the same success in Washington. He blamed his failure in Washington on everything but himself and now Chicago has released him? No thanks.

What took so long?

No we should not sign him, at this point in his career he is no better than anything else we have. He is not good in coverage, never was. Good in run support, but we just signed Chris Crocker who has a similar style. By no means am I saying we are set at safety, but he is not the answer.

7 minutes. I read it a little a while ago on PFT and knew it was coming too. Funny that you timed it.

And you nailed it on Archeletta himself too. He isnt a good safety at all. No point in us bringing him in. We have enough guys already at safety. Not that any of them are great, but youre right. He is certainly no better than anything we already have.

i agree... his play justs wasn't the same since he left st. louis... in washington he never performed to his contract (6 yrs 30 mil) in chicago he became a third stringer and down graded to just special teams play...

with all the guys we have signed from FA for special teams we really dont need another "he'll be good on special teams" type of guy...

I thought that Crocker is pretty much the opposite. Everything I can remember praised his for his ball skills(That's what she said), and prowess in coverage.

That aside, Archuleta never impressed me much. And, now, he most certainly sucks.
